Firstly Alex Kidd games were crap, even back then. I only liked them because i didnt know better
Secondly, Sega are terrible with ressurecting old franchises, they give them of to some random Western developers who then go onto butcher these classics.
Lets just leave it as it is
Alex Kidd in Miracle World is still one of the best old school platformers out there. What the hell are you talking about FirstDiscovery ! If they kept the gameplay similar to Miracle World but made the game 2.5D, Like New Super Mario Bros or the recent remake of Bionic Commando (the 2.5D version), then I think it could be brilliant...and far better than ANY of the Sonic games.ImpurekindIn that case, i played the SMS game WAY back in the day and considering i had played so few games i liked it
Same with Alex Kidd on Gen, but at the same time, reviews back then and even today still blast it. Heck i was playing it the other day and it wasnt all that great

As an example Alex Kidd on Gen doesn't come close to the quality of Alex Kidd on SMS even though they appear very similar. I only ever thought the original Alex Kidd was great and the rest were very average but from what I have seen most modern reviewers, and certainly people with memories of the original Alex Kidd on SMS, look back on it very fondly and still regard it as a great 8bit platfomer. In many ways it's superior to the likes of SMB, although that game is more of a classic, but Miracle World offers so many things in the design that were really cool and fun back then and still are today imo. Wiht a modern touch up, but sitll keeping the same basic game design and ideas, I think it could work. I still think it would need to be a WiiWare game though because I don't think it would be deep enough to really work as a full retail release. Maybe they could do a MM9 type of update. Please Log In to post.
