What? Gamecube discs won't work on Wii U? o.O
Now i have absolutely no reason to buy Wii U...

You were only going to get a wii U for gamecube games? Why not just get a $30 GC from gamestop?
The problem with using an original Gamecube is that the component cables for it are so darn expensive... they cost around $100 used [link]. And who wants to play games on a composite cable in this day and age?Granted, he could just buy a Wii and a component cable for that, problem solved. But I suppose if someone was hoping to skip the Wii and just buy a Wii U, it's disappointing. Also there's the issue of clutter -- if people still actively play Gamecube games, now they'll have to keep their Gamecube/Wii on the shelf next to the Wii U. But that's really just a minor inconvenience.
I don't understand why Nintendo took out BC anyway. It's not like the PS3, which had to include an entirely different CPU and GPU to play PS2 games. If the Wii U is hardware BC with the Wii, it should be hardware BC with the Gamecube... but Nintendo just arbitrarily decided not to support Gamecube discs in order to, apparently, sell Gamecube games on Wiiware. :|
I guess that's a good reason then,I forgot about the cables being $100.
