Sell XBOX 360 And Buy PS3?? *PLEASE HELP*

I've owned an XBOX 360 for the past 2 years, and have been quite satisfied with the game selection and online play, except for the fact that through that span it's screwed up atleast 3 times on me. For the second time, I'm going to have to send it back to Microsoft, but it's really getting annoying, and the PS3 has started to capture my attention. I really want to buy it, but just wanted an opinion from people who own a PS3, or have sold their 360 to buy one. The PS3 seems great, and I'll be able to buy a brand new 80gb one for $250. Please help me out, and thanks! I'm only 16 btw, so I don't have a job right now to own both :)

Normally I would say no, because I prefer having both consoles but for 250, I can't refuse

From what I understand it's pointless to sell your Xbox 360 to get a PS3 and vice-versa since they're pretty much the same. Just look at what exclusives and features suit you the most and make your choice based on that.

Honestly, from what I've seen and played, the 360 exclusives are much, much better than the PS3's, but the PS3 offers Blu Ray, free online, and there are a few exclusives which I'd really enjoy playing. I don't know...confused...that's why I'm seeking other's opinions..lolmvp_153

Or, you could be smart and keep it. I will tell you what I tell everyone else who considers selling their console(s) for another one. You will, I repeat, WILL regret it sometime down the road, and you will regret it hard. If you have even a shred of fondness for the console you are considering selling, then keep that mother.

Trust me you'll regret selling ANY system you own down the road. Unless you're getting a really good deal for selling your 360 I'd say don't do it because places like Gamestop will not give you much for your stuff.

If you sell your 360 for a PS3 you will regret it. The PS3 is a better backup console then a main one.

PS3 is a great console. Most games are multiplat, so you will have to focus on exclsuives for both systems. You also have to see how much you have invested in 360....games, controllers, etc. You also have to consider your online experience, while PS3 is free, 360 has a more extensive community. 360 also seems to be more experienced here, so some may argue it's better.....I don;t really game online, so can;t compare. But you will also lose your online friends, unless they also have ps3's, or check out what your personal friends use to game, and will you miss that.

And if anything wait for E3, many people are expecting ps3 to announce a price drop!

No, because you'll miss it sooner or later. Just save up for a PS3.

I sold my 360 for a Ps3 and do not regret it at all....

MGS4, Uncharted, KillZone2 have really kept me occupied.

Plus Uncharted 2, God of War III and Twisted Metal on the horizon for late this year or early next year.

I traded in my 360 for a ps3 and while I'm perfectly happy with it (In fact I like the console better) I would'nt exactly advise you to do it. You see at the end of the day, there's pro's and con's to the ps3 just like the 360. just like the 360 it plays HD games. They share most of the same games too.

See what I'm getting at? We can systemwar all we want but exchange one console for the other and 1 month down the road, it'll feel like the same damn thing.

I do however dig the games coming out for the ps3 this year :)

Given i almost never play on PS3 and constatly play on 360, has the best multipltform version of games,the biggest game lineup so far, the most varietyand the biggest 2009 upcoming lineup by miles, i would never recommend selling such a system to get a PS3

The PS3 has some astoundingly amazing exclusives, although very few of them. Plus, its online gaming is greatly dimished when compared to the U.S. playerbase of Xbox Live. If you're truly sick of your system failing, definitely go for the PS3, as it's not likely to fail and it has got some neato hardware.

I'd say you keep both.

Shooter - About equal

JRPGs - About equal, edge to 360

WRPG's - 360 by a million times or more

Strategy - 360 by a landslide

Adventures - Edge to 360 due to Alan Wake

Espionage - 360 with Splinter Cell

etc etc

So, only in action genre PS3 has more to offer (GOW3) and in almost every other genre 360 is equal to a million times better

If you want a blu-ray player instead of a video game system then by all means get the PS3. If you want to play games, keep your 360. Or save up for all the systems. Do you play on an HDTV because if you dont then there is no point in getting a PS3. My PS3 is a blu-ray player, with a few good times like Little Big Planet and Killzone 2 but those are few and far between. PS3 does have a lot of potential in the future though, it can when programmed right, create some very beautiful games that I don't think 360 could match.

Dont do it dude. Somewhere down the line, you will want to play a new 360 game and you wont be able to.
