I have decided to sell my 360 and all my games because I feel the technology has gotten too out of date to justify spending $60 a game on. So this is not really a system war article. I love Xbox and will be the first one in line to buy the new Xbox when it comes out late this year. That said I have a very high end PC and have the 360 wireless controller for it and games look and run SOOO much better than on the 360.

No Im not advocating everyone build a gaming PC. I understand the very reason consoles are appealing is you just plug them in to your TV and you are done. I am just saying Microsoft and Sony have waited too long to come out with the next gen consoles and I have decided not to invest anymore money into this platform because I do have a great gaming PC. I also have a roku box and right now I use my 360 for Netflix / Amazon Prime 80% of the time anyway.

Cant wait for November / December when the new Xbox and Playstation come out.

Thinking about it too. I guess I could ask about 150-200 euros for my console and game collection.

To each his own. I've got over 100 XBox 360 games and 2 Xbox 360's and have no plans of getting rid of either of them. I also have 2 PS3 and a decent laptop to play a few PC games. The main reason I'm keeping my systems is because I have games I haven't even started to play yet. I still have games like Kingdom of Amular and Borderlands to finish. I have started to sell some of my older outdated games that I have no plans on playing again. Hope to get rid of a lot of stuff during my yard sale.

Obligatory "cool story bro". That being said, I don't blame you. Other than a few key exclusives, I'm getting to the point where I'm waiting for this gen to end. I foolishly JUST bought a 360 a few months ago and already regretting it (should have dumped that money into my HTPC that I've been playing around with, but i foolishly went "low end" on the HTPC and also bought a 360 for Christmas). Anyway playing Skyrim on 360, and I'm sure it's better than PS3 version of Skyrim. But it still looks like @$$. The only reason I'm playing it is because it was bundled with the console... but at this point I'm already having to force myself through it (and I bet I'm not even 25% done).

No offense, but why do you own two X360's and two PS3's? Also it sounds like you buy games just to buy games. Why not buy a game, finish it and then buy another?

I was in same boat as you on my PS3 with a backlog of games. I deced to dump pretty much every "multiplat" on PS3 whether I've beaten them or not (quite a few "sealed" games), because frankly I will NEVER get to them, and by the time I do I will certainly rather play them on PC. My HTPC at present has bottom end video card, so I really haven't used it much for gaming yet, but I'm sure it at least would beat console settings.

My rule now has been trying to only buy "exclusive" games (either specific to one console, or at least "console exclusives").

Fortunately I also had a few OOP games, a couple of which I made big profit on. I also am in the habit of buying games only when I see the best possible deals. I feel like I still lost money overall in my "hoarding" of games, but maybe not as bad as it could have been thanks to some of the OOP and rare stuff I had. I was just glad to get rid of them and make some room!!!

Similar situation here. Two 360's and 3 PS3's (bought extra 360 for my kids and extra two PS3's because they where best Blu ray payer on market). I have barely started Borderlands2. I just can't get into it like I did TE I rest one. Seems to scripted and the loot drops early on seem very weak.

Guessing because not everyone here is 16 living with parents. Probably has kids or wants to host LAN parties. We used to do this with Xbox and halo hella fun!

I'm doing that too, I'm not sure what to get with the money. A new PC or a Go Pro HD Hero 3.

Nice to know about your gaming transition, but would have been better to be informed in your blog.
