Seriously 2.0... are shooters all most cows and lems want to play?

Mirror's Edge, Valkyrie Chronicles, Prince of Persia, Banjo-Kazooie, Little Big Planet...

All late October-December games... none of them crack the the top 10 in Nov or Dec. There are times where I feel like I am the only person with a 360 or PS3 who is interested in more than one genre of gaming. Other genres are dying and I think i'm like that one "nay" in the back of the room when the question is asked, "Who'd be happy if there was only one genre of gaming left?"

Meanwhile, next door theres a room full of girls, 40+ year olds and 5 year olds screaming, "nay" and I feel like perhaps I'm in the wrong place despite everyone in my room looking like me.

Hey, LBP, Banjo Kazooie and PoP interest me much more than R2 or GeOW2, but I am not a Cow or Lemming.

I own every single one of those games you listed. I wish others would, too.

I am with you there. I like all kinds of games and it is sad to see many great games never get the recognition they ever deserve from the public. FPS's are popular today and will be for sometime. Some are really great games, but the formula does get boring quite fast.

I own 2 out of 5 of the games you listed, but i agree to a certain extent, whether they're cows or lemmings shooters seem to sell and at the end of the day devs and publishers are still businesses, so they're more likely to get a return on shooters. And also lets face it, shooters have massive appeal outside of SW too.

I dont own ANY of those games :)

They're all so tedious. I may get POP cause i hear it's short, but i like games that i can pick up and play, then leave. Except a few RPG's it's reflected in my games collection .

FPS shooters are extremely boring, except perhaps Crysis. TPS are where it's at. 8)

Btw, Banjo: N&B and Mirror's Edge FTW!

The only game off that list I own is LBP. If it doesn't have good online or a lengthy single player, I don't buy it.

I love Valkyria and Little Big Planet. As I understand it, Banjo, PoP, and ME aren't quite good enough to warrant a total purchase. It's not enough of a reason to buy something just because a game is of a different genre. I'd certainly love variety but quality takes primary importance there. I can tell you what I'm really looking forward to more than anything else is: the retail release of Siren Blood Curse, Nobi Nobi Boy (just played WLK the other day, and, boy was it awesome), and the new game from Team Ico. God of War 3 fits somewhere on that list as well and Starcraft II is set to invade my world for a good many years.

Well, if it matters I just got POP, (haven't played, too much work, weekends coming though...) so can I be one of the cool people? Pretty please?

Oh, and Mirror's Edge money is being confiscated for the rumored PS3 price drop, so no can do, sorry.

Lots of those games sell great but the shooters dominate the top 10 because its mostly core gamers that buy them and not casuals. Softare sales are up a huge amount this generation and its mostly casual gamers accounting for that rise.

Well the fact is the majority of gamers are casual. There is a large group of people that buy maybe 3 or 4 games a year. NCAA Football, Madden, Call of Duty, and the other big shooter of the year.

A lot of games have guns. But no, I like all types of games.
