Why would a developer pay so much money for a game and have it only be 6 hours long? Thats rediculous! Granted I'm still going to buy it because i think it looks awesome and 6 hours is good for my schedule but really come on devs step it up. Anyone else dissapointed with me?hustler_151
Why do movie studios pay so much for a movie that's only 2 hours long?
Stranglehold was around 6 hours & I loved that. Not every game has to be a 20+ hour epic to be a good title. Sometimes a good pick up & play game that you can beat 3 or 4 times is nice too. ColoradoKindBud
ya but stranglehold wasnt suposed to be a huge system seller

And anyone who thought that HS was going to be a system seller was delusional. Not trying to piss anyone off, but it's the truth. The game looks sweet, it got a good score, I'm sure most who pick it up will really enjoy it, but a system seller? No way.
Movies are different from games. Movies are worth less than 10$ whereas Video games are 30$-60$.
And you dont see movies being made for 4 years. Only one i can think of is The Simpsons.
Next time, use a better analogy than picking a random one off your ass.

looks like it should have shipped on two mighty blu rays. one obviously wasnt enough to make the gameplay a decent length.

Um, Sony was pumping money into it like it was supposed to be a system seller and it was hyped up as one.

You don't pay 60$ for a movie ticket.

Well, I feel real sorry for anyone who bought into that hype then. I figured the demo would have dispelled that kind of insane hype because although I thought the demo was cool, there was nothing there that screamed go out & pay $500-$600 to play this game.
Again, I'm not slamming HS, I'm grabbing my copy tomorrow & I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but my original point was that a short game does not = a bad game & not all long games are automatically better than shorter ones.

You do if you want to watch the movie over and over.

I think you got movie ticket confused with live entertainment such as a rock concert, or NCAA basketball tickets, or even NCAA football or pro for that matter.
It would most likely have to do with the developer, Ninja Theory. Because of their inexperience/suckiness (the only game they ever made was Kung Fu Chaos, which was apparently so bad they had to change their name) chances are they killed a ton of time and money doing programming and the like which a more experienced developer would have breezed through. Also they would have been working with the steep learning curve of the PS3, which would have further complicated the matter.PBSnipes
I'm not cutting them any slack on this one after hearing about what happend to the guys that made Warhawk. I heard the whole team designing Warhawk left about 8 months ago before the game came out and there was only like 8 people that worked on the game from then on. I'm pretty sure its true though I read it from ps3 today.

Couldnt have said it better......Lets say it was more than 20 hours than people would complain bcause it was too long...

What happened with Warhawk was very different. First off the team left in waves, and not all at once 8 months before release. Second with a Multiplayer only game it doesn't take anywhere near as much development time or work, so the two games aren't comparable. Hell Counterstrike started off as a user mod, 8 developers finishing off Warhawk really isn't that big a deal.well i bet if they would of made it longer the graphics wouldnt look as good and the gameplay wouldnt have played as good.
lets just hope for a sequel.

I don't know about this analogy. Movie studios tend to make millions on films if there's enough distribution. Actual quality is usually not even a factor. And we don't pay $50/$60 to go see a movie.
