Yeah i know go ahead and flame because little ol' me " PS3nut " is contemplating the switch, the guy who's been giving Wii and 360 fans so much grief since i've been here, is now considering switching, as early as tomorrow.

Believe me i have my reasons, 1st of all, i have had and beaten all the latest and greatest games on the PS3 as recent as RE-5, plus for what ever reason i've noticed certain games run smoother on 360 and i don't know why considering it's lesser hardware specs, games like Tiger Woods 09, Fallout 3, Oblivion and so on.

I also have an 8 year old son and a 1 year old daughter and i'd like to start them off with the familiar Nintendo faces i knew growing up, like Mario, Zelda, SSBB and other games that are geared more towards there age group.

However the best reason for me to swap out is because i don't use the extra features Sony charges $100.00 more for, which is the Wi-Fi and the Blu-Ray, besides i have enough Sony games and the 160gb console, along with my new Nintendo DSI to get a mega amount of credit for both, actually i'll probably just return my DSi since i just got it yesterday.

I'll try to pick up a 360 Elite and a Wii with a few top games for each, so go ahead boy's flame all you want.

Well, that's nice that you want to try out different things, and you are voicing your opinion not being afraid of any fanboys' backlash. What games do interest you the most? Maybe I could be of some help here for some recommendations for 360?

Why not just pick up another system instead of selling one? Really you don't get your money's worth by selling it. Save up a little longer instead of getting rid of something.

I wouldn't really do that. The edge that 360 version have over the PS3 ones is minimal, almost non existant now, so it's not a big factor to make the switch.

Bold part: but you already paid for those!! It's not like Sony charges you montly for them, so what gives?? Also consider that you'd be paying just as much as that if you go for the Elite, so it makes no sense IMO.

You might as well just buy a Wii for your kids.

Firstly, return the DSi, the DSlite is a far better deal.

Secondly, E3 is literally in TWO MONTHS, I would wait for the possible price drops, ESPECIALLY from Nintendo. They are the only ones that haven't done a price drop all generation. (They don't have too, but it would be prudent to wait.)

Thirdly, the PS3 is finally picking up MAJOR steam, gaming wise, and you are giving it up? Seems kinda like "The grass is Greener" syndrome.

As someone who has ALL the machines, I would recommend getting them all, not trading.

I say go for it. Especially since it's to spend more time with your kids. Plus it's not like your trading 1:1, you're doing 1 for 2. If you ever do decide to get a PS3, it mightbe cheaper than what you got itfor originally. Assuming that both systems keep you satisfied for a good while.

Even though I'm a lemming to the core, I can't say I'd agree with this move. This gen there is so much going on for all consoles that it's worth while to own all of them if possible. I'm now convinced to buy a PS3 (only have to explain to my wife why I'm going for something from a company I've hated for so many years) and I'm finally seeing more quality titles coming out for the Wii. Honestly I'd say keep your PS3 and just add in both or one at a time as the funds permit. It's simply a bad choice this gen to trade something in when so many quality games are coming out on all fronts.

wow.....simply put....wow the Wii is an incredible system and it has more then it's fair share of incredible games to play on it. If all you're looking at is visuals and that's all that matters to you, please stop gaming as you are the consumer that's ruining the industry.

Actually i'm just going to put all my trade in credit into a 360, so i can get the most games i can possibly get for my money, besides i have to upgrade my Live account from Silver to Gold unfortunately so that'll cost me.

Which is why i just decided to forget about the Wii and just sink all my PS3 trade credit into the 360.

i commend you on your initial post in this thread. Very mature of you IMO, but i kinda agree with mgsfan on the wii subject. Most wii owners have multiple systems and ironically, most of those multiple console owners play their wii the least. Now for PS3nut, it seems like a great deal to get a wii (and NOT sale the ps3) for his kids and all, but you really can't attack mgsfan for saying that about the wii because it really seems like that.

I kind of understand where you are coming from, I enjoy my 360 the most of the three. That said though, I would try to keep the PS3 and just buy a 360 because its cool to own them all, you aren't stuck without any exclusives.

PS3nut

No offence but what's the point? Really there isn't much of a point in switching. Both consoles share a lot of multi-plats and well yeah some of them run better on the xbox 360 but some also run better on the playstation 3. Not to mention you guys get free online and killzone 2, resistance 2 along with uncharted and home, what does the 360 offer for a significant switch? Gears of war 2? Halo 3? It's just not a equal trade off. Not to mention the 360 has shocked me with how unreliable it is. I'm on my 4th one and my disc tray has almost stopped opening and it's starting to freeze again. I just got it to and it's date is December 2008 and i've kept GREAT care of it. You're just wasting money and while any loyal 360 fan will disagree with me anybody with common sense would see that. Have fun trading in a console with another console that shares over 50% of the same games...not to mention your going to have to buy new games and pay for online play.

Your money i guess and if you don't believe i own a 360 search the profile zero2442 and xilelord, both of which belong to me and i can prove it if anybody wants. I've owned a 360 since december 2005.

i think u should save up for the both of the systems. selling the games u dont' get all of the money back from when u bought it new. the wii doesn't have a lot of great games compared to the ps3, xbox 360 and PC.

Keep your PS3. It's a fantastic movie player at the very least. And it's way too late to be worrying about what you spent 100 bucks extra for, you already spent the money. You might as well keep it. You stand to lose even more if you sell it.

The only advice I can give you and hope you follow it: Don't do the trade-in at Gamestop!! Just sell the PS3 and its games separately on Ebay and you will get enough money from it.

DO NOT CHANGE TO WI 60 NOT NOW THE PS3 IS HAVING AN AMZING LINE UP IN 2009.

my advice is to save a little and buy an xbox 360 arcade for 199 and get a bargin on a hardrive for the 360. ps360 is unrivaled. wii60 is very weak compared to a ps360

right so because you don't use those 100 dollar features your gonna waste more than a hundred dollars trying to sell your ps3 ? wait what?

Get a Wii for your kids. Get a DS lite if you want a DS (the "i" is not worth the price premium). I'm not saying not to get a 360, but you'd be losing a lot more than a 100 dollars if you tried selling your ps3 and games ... If its within budget I'd say get Wii and 360 .. just complete the set.

I agree with a lot of people in this thread that there are too many of the same games between 360 and PS3. That is why you should buy a SNES instead. Only makes sense.

I have no clue who you are, most likely a fakeboy anyhow...plus those are some of the most ridiculous reasons to sell your PS3.

Wii-60? Why don't you not sell the PS3. Keep the PS3, work a few more hours on the side, buy a Wii and a 360 and have them all?

Nice, when you switch make sure you rebuy Fallout 3 + expanions, and Resident Evil 5 that looks a lot better on 360

Plus have a look at the below lineup, if you don't have a gaming PC, you get to play an avalance of console exclusives that no other c.system gets

When did that happen ? On every comparisson i have seen, 360 has vastly better textures and better motion blur effects by far
