Seriously...Will Killzone 2 be beinging anything new to the table?

I see a lot of damage control threads lately by cows that seem to be scared of Gears 2. Nitpicking every little pixel, in every little pic of Gears 1. A game that still, after 2 years, looks better than 99% of what the PS3 has to offer.

As far as KZ2, I guess the cows don't remember what happened with the original KZ. Hyping it to be the ultimate Halo killer. Posting every doctored pic they could find, saying it looked better than anything on the original Xbox. How embarrassing that was. Now it's happening all over again.

Graphics aside, what is KZ2 bringing to the table, gameplay wise, that we've never seen before? What will make it stand out above the rest? You cows still care about gameplay, right? I don't care how good a game looks, if KZ2 is anything like the first crapfest, it'll flop, in my book.

previews from some mags ive seen are not positive so far. in summary, it sounds like a pretty but average game....run of the mill. maybe the devs have a few tricks up their sleeves.

anywho im far more interested in resistance 2 after e3. ill be keeping an eye on that.

and i agree..games dont really have to reinvent the wheel to be great,but when it's an exclusive to one console..fanboys are going to throw that kind of logic out the window and be hard to impress.

The first Killzone was so bad it was unfunny so I agree with you on that point. But I'm still going to hold back on an opinion until I try KZ2.

Even the GTA series started of pretty mediocre

I want, as much as any cow here, for there to be a good reason, other than BluRay, to own a PS3. Yeah, I'm a lemming. I dislike Sony because of their excuses, lies, hype, etc. (Cows can say all companies do that all they want. But MS has been better about keeping promises than Sony. This is fact.) But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy a PS3 if Sony got their head out of their rump, and there were a few decent games out. One (MGS4) isn't enough, for me anyways.

Yes because Halo and COD4 are just so revolutionary. It doesnt have to reinvent the wheel, just make it a fun ride. Most games dont bring drastic new to the table.

COD4 did offer the ranking system, which is pretty cool. I'm not aware of any other FPS to have this. If I am wrong, my apologies.

It's probably the first FPS with FPS cover. Other than that, the rest are just improvements over the first Killzone.

I would say the main draw for me is the Valor points that clans can bet before matches. Its a small thing, but anyone that gambles knows how much intensity is added when you've got something to lose. As far as the game goes it looks good sometimes and ok sometimes, as long as the multiplayer is good thats all I care about. A good single player is normally only played once, so if it is good, thats just icing on the cake

I dont get you, you bash KZ2 for not bringing anything new to the table yet when I look at some of the games you scored I see games like MK: Deception and Shaolin Monks with scores of 8.6 and 8.9. Condemned 2 and FEAR you also gave high scores, and all of those games are far from revolutionary.

Heck you even gave original Killzone a 9!!! If you loved the original, then why are you bashing the sequal which is improving greatly on, according to you, is an already great game. I think the person nitpicking is you because most of the games you scored bring nothing new to the table and you gave plenty of 9's.
