Shadow warrior 3 vs Far cry 6 - Which 2021 FPS looks better?

So little is known about each game. Farcry is due for major changes. So, it might actually be good.

Lo Wang is more like Asian Duke Nukem than Doomguy. Unlike Doomguy and just like Duke Nukem, Lo Wang speaks and speaks often, frequently quipping about how his name is a synonym for penis. Doomguy as a silent protagonist was a risk-free but probably wise choice, because Lo Wang is a kind of character that the game industry rarely gets right, often ending up with a wisecracking douchebag I want to shove a boot down the throat of after an extended period of play. But we shall see.

There's not much to go on for Far Cry 6, as the Ubisoft stream didn't show any gameplay. Apparently the new protagonist will be voiced, which I expect to be less wisecracks and quips, and more gritty grim growling. This is a more conservative approach to a voiced protagonist, and should generally be fairly tolerable. But again, so little to go on right now.

So at this point, my point goes to Shadow Warrior just because the Devolver Digital stream showed some freaking gameplay, which looked sweet. But again, it all depends on whether Lo Wang crosses that boot-down-throat threshold.

As long as Shadow Warrior isn't culturally insensitive and Far Cry 6 is political they are both good, in their own ways, The game shit comes second (or possibly third).

Having said that, Far Cry always suffer the same issue of repetitiveness. Quite every game barring the original before getting to the finishing line.

Shadow Warrior had it's share of issues, obnoxious screen-effects and enemies far too bullet-spongy was one of my biggest gripes. That game was also too long for it's own good without really changing things up.

Basically just like Shadow Warrior more, it appeals to 80/90's shit use to watch as a kid.

Can we wait to see gameplay?

Both suck id take serious sam 4 over both.

Serious sam 4 will have mod support, those other garbage games wont fake ass pc games.

For far cry we got a few in game shots. That's it.

Lets compare gameplay to no gameplay. That makes sense.

I mean it's Far Cry, don't need to see gameplay to know exactly what you'll be getting.

Far Cry, with giblets attached.

Assassins Creed, with giblets attached.

Watchdogs, with giblets attached.

Both look terrible. They're casual movie games for non-gaming bandodgers on internet forums.

@uninspiredcup: When doom eternal dropped people were complaining how it wasn't Doom 2016: the sequel.

When TLOU2 dropped people complained it wasn't another Joel & Ellie adventure like the first game.

Look, I want Ubisoft to do new stuff too. But their sequels are iterative, and that's fine.

Oh yea man, nothing against iterative games.

It's mainly Ubisoft games.

After Shadow Warrior 2. I might have to lean on Far Cry for this.

@uninspiredcup: Ok so people are sick to death of 'do the same exact side mission fifty times' in AC.

So they remove it in Origins and make every sidequest different, have its own story and be unique.

But then out of nowhere the repetitive side missions are back in Odyssey. That's something I don't understand.

I think Ubisoft knows what people want from a sequel. They just don't always act on it.

I’m much more interested in FarCry 6 so that gets my vote.

I mean my basic problem is just the repetition. In practically all their open world games, turn off before seeing the end. Hard to summarize why, but part of it is just, a feeling of nothingness.

Not a problem I have with (very rough) games like Gothic I/II.

Part of the reason for that is, in Gothic, you aren't some empowered super soldier but basically a piece of debilitated shit working his way up to that, with an ultimately gratifying end, even with all the masses of jank it's enough to keep me going till the end.

Far Cry, Assassins Creed, almost from the get go you are kewl guy doing kewl kewl shit. Gets very fucking old, very fucking fast.

I agree with this. Power progression systems are only really satisfying if you start by being a worthless piece of crap.

I like Far Cry series, except for 2 (very unrealistic and not immersive in the slightest). Gonna go with Far Cry Fring.

Both look incredibly average. FC games have been mediocre since FC2.

Yeah, this is what I am hoping for.

Ubisoft allegedly saw the error of their ways in 2019 with having two poor quarters in a row, so they took a step back and reassessed a lot of things.

I Gotta admit, I had no interest in Watch Dogs 3 before but now it actually looks really good. I'm hoping they change things up with Far Cry 6 as well.

Zero interest in Far Cry 6. Interested in Shadow Warrior 3 because I enjoyed previous 2. Ubisoft seriously needs to fix useless grinding in their games. Great settings goes to h3ll because of it. However, I'm willing to give it a try. Might try previous Far Cry games again as well.

I don't know, is there any footage? SW3 will obviously be a better game though.

I refuse to compare graphics as long as I haven't seen real gameplay.

Far cry doesnot need footage at all. we all know how it is played.

Shadow Warrior is a fun IP. Farcry is not.

Doom 2016 is a good game. Shadow Warrior is OK at best. Also, FarCry 3 is much better than Shadow Warrior.
