That's a smart business strategy for them. They clearly did so much better last gen with the Gamecube, I don't see why they don't just continue to follow that "winning" strategy.

I made a poll shortly after it was announced. Just over half of Wii owners said they might get it, while about a quarter of the people who didn't plan on getting a Wii thought it looked interesting.

WiiFit easily will be one of the best selling games of all time. I am not a sheep but it has to do well considering how anything that keeps the illusion of loosing weight sells in America.  I can just see all the Soccer Moms picking the game up and it being featured on Good Morning America etc. While this may not be a hardcore sheep Game, they wil be able to gloat about the massive amounts of Wiis the game will sell.

How do I see Wiifit? I have 2 ways of seeing it:

1st: I'm not the target audience. With that said, i wouldn't feel a thing about it because it simply doesn't appeal to me.

2nd: I Can also see Wiifit, not as an entire series but a demo game just like Wii sports/Wii play. Who knows if they might incorporate the balance board on some games in the future?

It's pretty pathetic when you think about it. Buying a video game to get into shape. Whatever happened to going for a run, talking a walk, bicycling, etc?

WiiFit is a disgrace to the gaming community. If you want to enjoy yourself while getting fit take a karate class or something.

the game itself looks like really niche. I mean, you can call yourself a movie fan, but that doesn't mean you're going to buy workout videos because they are a kind of movie. This is just a workout video game. So, I would be curious about it, but ultimately wouldn't pay money for it. I am curious about the balance board and what it can do, but since it's a peripheral it will probably never be used for real gaming.

I find it strange that nintendo has to be the one to make it.

It looks....interesting, how else can i put it :? , im intrigued by the concept and the whole balance board. i may buy it just for the experiance and maybe to get my parents playing the wii. If they make more games with the balance board, you know like real games then it may be a decent decision on my part.

Tylendal's right. i remember the poll he made, and pretty much more people were interested by it than flat out hating it.

As a Wii owner, I probably won't get it. But in all likelihood, it will probably be a huge hit for Nintendo. It will sell thousands upon thousands of units to the Wii Sports crowd, and once the media catches wind, the game will be featured on CNN and all those types of channels (much like Wii Sports), inspiring more people to buy it and thus stuffing a few extra dollars in Nintendo's piggy-bank. The game will do more good for Nintendo than harm.

I like going to the gym my self, the good thing about having having a gym that is open 24 hours a day is a big for me, but I don't like going everyday, the Wii-fit would be perfect for some early in the morning start me ups. Low impact work outs are good as well as those heavy work outs, why not start the day with a bit of exercise.

Yes, there are push-up, crunches, and other things I can do at home, but I'd enjoy it more with an interactive game.

I don't really care for WiiFit, but I did remember reading or hearing somewhere that the board used for WiiFit could be used for other games in the future. Like a snowboard or skateboard game. It could be really cool. I hope developers are taking note of that. An SSX game /w the board would be awesome.

Thank-you Nintendo for making something that caters the casual crowd and not for TEH ALMIGHTY HARDCOREZ!!!!!!!!!!1

TEH AMIGHTY HARDCOREZ!!!!!1 are nothing but ungrateful elitist ****s and are ruining gaming for every one.

Honestly, Wii Fit seems so useless and this is not the system to put this game on. The thing is, the Wii is the most casual system, so it will likely have the least amount of over weight people on it.

Not a sheep but own a Wii and I am mildly intrigued by the balance board, kinda think WiiFit might be fun for a little while but unlikely to actually get you fit. Oh and I think that it definitely doesn't mean the end of gaming or whatever crazy irrational thoughts it seems to engender in the minds of 'hardcore' gamers.

The people its targeting don't relate to me anymore (like most things about the Wii), so I couldn't care less about it :D

Not to mention it looks terrible. A stroke of genius on the sales front (like most things about the Wii), but terrible for any gamer with my tastes (like most things about the Wii).

It will probaly be another half baked accesory. Nintendo has a bad track record with these sort of things. They come out with an accessory thats over priced, then create two games for it, then it dies in obscurity. Mario paint mouse? Super Scope? Just a few examples. I probably wont buy it unless five minutes a day will turn me into mr. universe.

I don't really care about Wii Fit because I'm pretty fit already, like most gamers but the stereo type is that all gamers are fat, unsocialable, etc... Really I didn't buy the Wii for Wiifit so I could care less.

Certainly the majority who will buy this thing will be women and it's targeted at the them so it's fine. It isn't actually a video game, more an interactive training video, so for all it counts I'm ok with it. If it gives any results in the end is not really a question here, however if you have to move on that board and do certain exercises there will be an effect on your body (it may not be big, but it's certainly better as sitting on the couch and doing nothing).

My girlfriend uses a stepper at home now and she watches TV while stepping (aside from going to fitness), she said, she might want to try the WiiFit just for fun and I can't really see what would be wrong with that.

Nintendo is making other games, and this one here isn't really a game, neither is it targeted at teenage audience. Is it really so wrong if a console tries to push beyond the entertainment and actually tries to make people do something else... I don't know but I welcome "games" like WiiFit, Brain Age etc. evetho I may not really buy them I see lots of people really like that.

*shrug* I'm ambivilant. It looks neat but not something I'd pay for. Then again, I'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes. Besides, what does it matter? I'm not the target audience, and as long as Nintendo keeps making great games (Metroid Prime 3 is so awesome, BTW) I don't mind. Then again, I do agree on the need for a new StarFox game. I need something more substantial than Command to erase the awful taste of Assault from my memory.

Wiifit is going to sell. I mean sell.

It fits what the Wii has been going for, and the demographic as well. Anyone who didn't see this coming should pay more attention.

But as something I would want to buy, maybe, maybe not.

how do you know that the team for starfox would come from the wiifit team?
