I would make a proper thread for this, but I'm way to tired. But anyways, why is Battalion Wars II (BWii) not hyped? I barely hear anything from it besides a few people mentioning it. The online is going to be a lot of fun - the thing missing from the first was the multiplayer/online multiplayer. I'm definitely going to pick it up.

3 Online Multiplayer Modes
Assault: Instant Combat
Skirmish: Tactical depth
Co-op: Work with friends

3 Theatres of War
Combine land, sea and air combat

5 New Naval Units
Battleship, Frigate, Submarine, Dreadnought, Transport

6 Different Races, 5 Different Environments
With new vehicles for each side

Wii-Controller
Provides intuitive, all-action gameplay

Greater tactical depth
Capture facility buildings to re-spawn units (HQ, Barracks, Factories, Airfield, Docks)
Use Map Screen Commanding to order from afar

Bigger and Better
20+ single player missions AND 15+ mp missions
Increased replay value

I never played the original. I heard the game involves RTS, but also let's you control and fight with individual units. I've been dreaming of a game like that. Is this true?

But why not? Wii online games are few and far between. And this looks to be a GOOD Wii online game that could be really addictive.

You must be mistaken, I'm hyping this. Though, I need more info, to say what hype... but I'll say from what I've seen... AA seems good. I mean, it has Multiplayer, which was needed in the last BW game... but I wanna know how online will work, especially communicating int he co-op sections. That is the game's crux. If Nintendo fails to deliver, it won't be much I'm afraid.

Pretty much. It mixes RTS and 3rd person shooter genres.

Admittedly, I've never played the original, but it looks freaking awesome. And, yes, I'm fairly certain that is how it works. And they have added a lot more stuff with this one as well as a graphics update and online.

This looks interesting, but I'd hype it when it gets closer to the launch date. There are other, more anticipated things to be hyped at the moment though.

My only worry... no voice chat, which I'm pretty sure it won't have. :( And that will be a huge disappointment.

They're not that similar besides the art style. I'd prefer playing Batallion Wars to Advance Wars simply because Advance wars is more of astrategy game, while Battalion wars uses strategy, but you're actually part of the battle rather than observing it from above.

I really have no use for this "hype" you speak of.

What i really need is a copy of the game.

Exactly why I'm not overhyping this. We are at an age where Voice chat is needed, and hell.. even the DS itself offers that option for friends. If Nintendo doesn't allow me to chat with friends in CO-OP then something is wrong. Seriously... I can't imagine playing a game co-operatively online without being able to talk to my friend in real-time. Text chat is not gonna work, especially the Wii's text input system, cause it's not fast enough.

The art styles aren't similar. BW uses a more "Pixar" appraoch to it's character design. AW's design is very more manga-ish amd natural perspective.

Who knows - Nintendo could pull something out of their sleeves... litterally. Although, I'm not getting too hopeful.

I would hope Nintendo not miss the boat on this, and start bringing out some headset. Hell, I don't care if it's propietary, but then again.. I do hope Nintendo or someone, makes it possible for us to use Bluetooth headsets for the Wii, or hell.. a USB wireless dongle device... but that is really unneeded. The Wii has Bluetooth, so USE IT NINTENDO!

I rented the first one during the Wii drought and found it to be both addicting and fun, I recommend anyone to pick it up if you havent given it a shot. It doesn't take long to get through and provides a great variety of gameplay.

Plus, it's incredibly cheap these days.

Dude, that game's been around for ages - it's called Battlezone, there's also a sequel there too that wasn't as recieved as well. Go look it up, great games, can run on any PC these days.

ditto. This is not a BIG Nintendo franchise and Nintendo are swimming in quality first party stuff. Super Paper Mario, Zelda TP, Warioware, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, super Smash

this is just not as good unfortuantely
