so according to most sheep on gamespot you can't have a good game with grapihcs. "graphics is only a gimmick" i have been hearing this all the time. now you can say that to an extent, but in NO way can you say that Wii sports, yes wii sports, has deeper gameplay than geow. sometimes you guys can be so blind its not even funny, you act like grapihcs dont matter at all its all for the "fun" and "inovation and "new experiences". so one more question: why is it that you dismiss any game on another console as being fun, just because it doesnt use the "inovations" of the new wiimote. seriously if you say wii sports is deeper than geows gameplay than truly you are blind.:|Goldensun48when did we say that?
wii sports isn't even meant to have deep gameplay, whoever said that was pretty idiotic. Wii sports is a casual game you can pick up and play, anytime, with some friends and just have some fun. It's a completely different game with a completely different target audience from Gears so comparing the two in that respect doesn't really work. For the audiences they target, both games do a great job.

Graphics aren't everything though, just because wii sports has worse graphics doesn't make it worse in what it does. If you took wii sports with better graphics and put it with wii sports with the graphics it has at the moment, why should it make it more fun? That is why super HD graphics could be considered a gimmic, where it is not needed.

i have played the wii, red steel in fact for a whole day, and in no way is my aim more accurate than in any shooting game
the accuracy just suxcs for that game, it gave me a horrible experience with the wii to.
zelda saved me though, that is the only game im going to get when i get my wii, until mp3 smg and ssbbÂ

in your opinion. It might be better according to the hard core gamers, but maybe the casual audience wouldn't agree. Remember, it is a short game that, like halo 2, mainly relies on multiplayer to keep the game long lasting. The hard core gamers might like the multiplayer side more, but the casuals might want a good single player.

No graphics aren't a gimmick, but they aren't enoughÂ
yes i know they arent enough, im not dumb, im not a graphics whore. i play games to have fun(oh yeah i cant have fun cuz i dont have a wii, i kinda forgot:roll:Â ) every game that i play has good graphics and excellent gameplay, for example, r6, fabulous game

actually when i play on a wii i still no i'm just playing a game. When i play on a standard controller i actually feel as though i'm in the game due to the lack of my own physical movements. Immersion is much easier with a basic controller imo. Also i don't remeber buttons i remeber the way it felt and slowly i enter into the game when my character is suddenly attacked i jump out of my seat. with the wii i don't recieve this level of immersion

Red steel was a bad game plain and simple, so even bringing that up is pointelss, there are always bad games for any system, but no it is a better experience with motion, because its more natural, why do you think that gaming only has had a small chunk of the market until now? is it me or are you contradicting yourself. You don't get immersion by "pressing a button". If I wanted to fire my gun in real life, I wouldn't hold it like a controller, and I certanly would go around looking for a "x" button on it.

the achievements are, in my opinion, made for the hard core gamer, casuals are, in my opinion, not interested in that kind of thing, they want to play a good game and finish it. I don't think they'd repeat the single player too often.

You mean like the xbox 360 which just has multiplayer games with no real single player? See, I can generalise too.

btw dude, most casuals at my high school buy the 360, mostly because the wii does NOT have madden, gta, basketball, baseball! so you dont have any of those games forcasuals. Eventually they will get tired of wii sports, so whats next for them wait cooking mama?!

"graphics is only a gimmick" i have been hearing this all the time. now you can say that to an extent, but in NO way can you say that Wii sports, yes wii sports, has deeper gameplay than geow. sometimes you guys can be so blind its not even funny, you act like grapihcs dont matter at all its all for the "fun" and "inovation and "new experiences". so one more question: why is it that you dismiss any game on another console as being fun, just because it doesnt use the "inovations" of the new wiimote. seriously if you say wii sports is deeper than geows gameplay than truly you are blind.:|Goldensun48

No graphics aren't a gimmick, but they aren't enoughÂ
yes i know they arent enough, im not dumb, im not a graphics whore. i play games to have fun(oh yeah i cant have fun cuz i dont have a wii, i kinda forgot:roll: ) every game that i play has good graphics and excellent gameplay, for example, r6, fabulous game
But those games scare away alot of people, because the controls are unwieldy for them, Wii solves that issueOhhhh I get it now, now I see what the Wii is about, it's about dumbing down games for people who don't like games, oh okay, so we should all just accept the fact that video games will all be dumbed down and made more accessible to grandmothers and toddlers.

personally i think they should of had an extreme mode for zelda it was pretty easy, but dangit i didnt get to the last boss:P
