Shin Megami Tensei V is on sale for $36.99 at Gamestop

One of the best games of the year is on sale for a super low price. Which is extremely low for a game that just released not long ago. So if you were on the fence before, maybe a lower price can sway that hesitation. Gamestop has been having some amazing deals this year, i bought Astral Chain brand new for $26.99 not long ago, FUIYOH!

Really good deal. I’m a little over 3 hours into the game myself and very much enjoying it myself so far. Will be playing some more of it today.

It is weird that is so cheap when it has like 2 weeks in the market, by the way, It is more alike to Pokemon than Persona, which is one of the biggest misunderstandings I have seen on the internet.

As relayed by GamesIndustry.biz, when it comes to Shin Megami Tensei V sales, “Launch boxed sales are 60% higher than February’s Bravely Default II (also Switch), 43% higher than June’s Monster Hunter Stories 2 (Switch again) and 23% higher than September’s Tales of Arise (PlayStation and Xbox platforms).”

It also did very well in Japan and US.

Nobody wants to buy it, so they lower the price of an unwanted product.

This would have been my GOTY had it not been for the masterpiece Metroid Dread. Switch just killing it this year, so many epic and diverse games.

@Archangel3371: agreed, it's a great game. I'm also about 3 hours into it. I died a couple times in the start, but grinded up some levels and now I'm ok.

The only poor aspect of this game and pretty much all SMT games is that they have very little story element compared to the persona branch that atlus also makes. Many people like that about SMT though. I myself didn't always like how the dialog dragged on and on in persona5

@hardwenzen: more people bought it than returnal, or even tlou2. Both games you call masterpieces but nobody else likes. Shame haha

Also the biggest downside for this game is the switch graphics. It's a bit of a disservice to be honest, and whT could have been had the hardware been stronger.

TLOU2 and Returnal are not a disgusting weeb game. I still can't believe the main character is actually a dude.

How many copies has this thing sold? It looks like a game that nobody is interested in but the very few weebs.

I’ve actually played more then I realized, clocked in 5 hours so far.

I don’t have much experience with the games outside of Persona. Have only very briefly played SMTIV on the 3DS, should really get back to that someday. 😅 Yeah the Persona games are quite heavy on the dialog.

@hardwenzen: you calling smtv a weeb game or whatever doesn't matter. Tlou2 was as woke as they come, and for me that wouldn't have mattered if it didn't suck so bad. Taking away the shiv and introducing the infinity knife was strike 1, then killing of Joel strike 2. Oh right the cringefest sex scene and the later on cuckolding. So much drama in a video, it's like ND was aiming for an Oscar award. They should have just stuck with saving the world trope.

The game is a stain on NDs spotless record and it's a shame because the underlying game itself is still really good. I'll force myself to beat the game at some point, just because it's ND.

Shiv nerf is only noticeable if you're playing on Normal like a scrub. Killing Joel is what they wanted for the series, and this is what was done. You're not the developer, you're not writing the story. Sex scene was shit, yes. But you know the most important thing in a video game is? Gameplay, and gameplay hasn't only delivered, but easily one of the better 3rd person survival shooters ever made. I also never understood the Woke talk in TLOU2. Makes no sense to me, and i am usually really fucking annoyed by any kind of sjw shit in my games.

@hardwenzen: I don't have a big problem with the sjw progressive stuff, but killing of Joel soured me off the game. I prefer playing male leads in my games but that didn't matter too much because ellie is practically a man anyway. I could have been fine with everything, but the biggest joke is that they completely went off the rails from tlou1. What happened to saving the world?? Curing the virus, defeating the zombies?? Going from that to a forced revenge plot rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I didn't even get half way but I heard she didn't even take her revenge. Facepalm. She killed half the world's surviving humans to get revenge on one girl, and end of the day she skips it. You may say story isn't important but I disagree, it's a critical part of a campaign. Otherwise you may as well play tetris. If tlou3 is about killing ellie, I might just pay ND $70 just to do it.

Just picked it up earlier today. The steelbook is kinda nice.

I mean, that's ptsd for you. You don't really control yourself.
