Shhhhh don't correct me, it's embarrassing.I actually almost started a thread the other day about how I thought that the 360 version would look better, at least with SI, because it's all on the HD, and that even with the PS3's 4.6 gb install, toe-to-toe the 360 has better gaming horsepower, so I expected this to be true. Glad to hear it is.donalbaneWell not by much it seems as if the PS3 version of Oblivion looks more like shivering Isles. There is the Ps3 version of Oblivion then Xbox 360 version and then there is shivering isles which looks a tad bit better then the PS3 version of Oblivion. But the 996 MB is killing my Hard drive space..... slowly....
[QUOTE="TrueReligion_"]How much does it cost?donalbane2400 points... or just shy of $30 bucks. it's not painful but at least it saves me gas money from driving to the store and picking it up and then driving back.... I'm just gald it's not 4.5 gigs. My puny HDD on the 360 will be all gone.
Yeah, it's because of the update the 360 got, that fixes the textures, and stuff like that:)ilovesnowboardNo I won't give you that Oblivion on PS3 looks better then the 360 version but Shivering isles on the Xbox 360 looks better then Ps3 version of Oblivion. I am so confused........... * goes play shivering isles on the 360.*

They just don't want to fill up the little 13gb hd. I guess if you have a 20gb ps3, you can install a few games with massive installs like Oblivion's, and then shows over.

The ps3 looked better, because Bethesda made the graphics better, and then they released an update for the Xbox 360. It's not because the 360 can't handle it or anything...i'm just saying this to all cows that are gonna write all kinds of ****:)
I don't think so. First of all, IGN has stated that the PS3 version of Oblivion looks and runs better than the 360 version AFTER it was patched. Shivering Isles is an expansion pack and uses the same exact graphics engine. I don't see how an expansion pack can run on a different graphics engine than the original game itself...... I own a PC and every expansion pack that I've played featured the same graphics engine. Usually the only difference graphically is the art style.....I had them running at the same time on 2 HDTV's.

Since the PS3 has RAM limitations, if Shivering Isles does come out for PS3, it will have to be on a disc, which is why it will look worse than Oblivion did on the 360 BEFORE it got the update.

You beat me to it, i was just going to make a thread about it, the new textures are AMAZING !!! Great job indeed, and just shows how superior 360 is to PS3, not that the far worst lighting, some textures in towns, AA and HDR plus the washed out colors meanty anything good for PS3 Oblivion in the first place, just too old gen hardware in PS3

It might load a little faster but having the game on the hard drive is not going to improve graphics. Lmao!!! The game runs on the same graphics engine so no, the graphics do not look better than the PS3 version of Oblivion. Btw, the PS3 is more powerful, it's been confirmed by tons of developers and even IGN's own editor-in-chief of Xbox 360 has admitted this.[QUOTE="Nteks"]I had them running at the same time on 2 HDTV's.

What an ignorant statement. Thanks for the laugh! Btw, for the person that mentioned the PS3 being ram limited, there has not been one game that has been limited because of the lack of ram. Take the new Unreal Tournament for the PS3 for example. Not only does it look better than Gears of War but it runs at a blazing frame rate. You don't understand what we're talking about. Nobody is saying what you think they are. They can put better textures on the HD, and they can be accessed faster than crappier textures off of an optical drive. And weather you understand or not, this DOES make games look better, which is the only reason the PS3 has any edge over the 360.But since SI 360 and the PS3 version of regular Oblivion both run off the HD, it's a better way to judge the relative rendering capabilities of the 2 consoles, and I'm sorry but the PS3 loses. Not by a huge maragin, but it's inferior at rendering 3d graphics.[QUOTE="Mudig"]This expansion is packed with over 40 hours of new content, cities, quests.
