Shooter of the Year 2007

Bioshock FTW.

There hasnt been a year like this one, its waaaaay to close and too many to tell.

I would of personally put Unreal Tournement 3 up there instead of Call of Duty 4.

Nobody knows, there was suppose to be a Public Beta 3 months ago, so somethings up, we will know if tis been delayed again at E3.

Was scheduled for September before but I highly doubt that :lol:

It's not Halo...and that's a good thing.

Bioshock or Halo 3. Crysis looks great but I think Bioshock looks better and Halo is the quintessential console shooter.

I thought it was more of a hybrid of styles. Yeah, I agree it is a shooter at heart, but because of some of the RPG elements it's not really a "shooter", if you catch my drift.

Actually Bioshock is probably going to steal Halo's thunder in the awards department....have you seen the list of pre-release awards for it? This game is a critical favorite.

Now if it can just sell...

Crysis looks damn fine, but Bioshock has the edge in the story and atmosphere departments.

I really think COD4 will surprise alot of people. And I'd imagine people voting "other" are rooting for Killzone?DA_B0MB

im going for Haze. and from the couple of previews on bioshock it's not reallly a shooter

ay, the Beta needs work...The gameplay itself is fine...but the game feels choppy, and apparently, the animations are caped to 30FPS.

You know, even though I think Bioshock will be SOTY (and GOTY), I can't diss the people who are rooting for Crysis. It does look freaking amazing, and I respect those who put it over Bioshock even though I disagree.

Now Halo 3...that's another story.

No self-respecting gamer has any excuse to put Halo 3 over any of the shooters listed above.

Other because Metroid Prime 3 isn't on there. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Prime 3 was better than all of those games. But, if you don't consider Prime 3 a shooter because it's more of an adventure games than a shooter, then I understand. But serious, Prime 3 is going to be a masterpiece.

But out of those gamesthere, I think Bioshock will take the cake. It looks like it could very well be Game of the Year on many, many websites and magazines. You don't have to blast your way through the game like in Call of Duty and Halo, you can take different directions in different areas, which, in my opinion, will make it better than the rest.

Crysis 1 - 2 - 3 could be the next Half Life 1 / 2 , or Halo 1 2 3 if it works out.

Halo 4? More of the same ... it has to take a dive at some point....

Well thats opinion, one shared by alot yes .... but no Halo game has won these awards ... this is the 3rd, by the time a series reaches its 3rd it better be bloody AMAZING if it expects to win , and Halo 3 ... is not a massive step, and we know nothing of the singleplayer, finales often dont satisfy people.

And Quality? come on .... the most Quality recognition it will get is the music, the rest (Evetns during SP) / Graphics / Physics were never top-quality.

All I'm saying is, usually GOTY's are recognized for their ambition / effort / quality .... in which Crysis/Bioshock out-do Halo in.

To be honest i think Crysis is gonna pull a MotorStorm.Have great grapics but the gameplay is gonna be wack.

Bioshock, possibly Crysis. People saying Halo 3 are ridiculous, it is doing nothing new. Bioshock is splitting away from the FPS mold and following in the footsteps of system shock. Crysis has a huge number of interesting new gameplay mechanics. Halo 3 has... a couple new vehicles and guns?

It's obviously going to be Crysis. PC shooters have long proven that they are superior. Bioshock looks alright, but it's not that great. Call of Duty 4 will come in a close second for great multiplayer elements. Halo is overrated.TheGrossPervert
