Shooter of the Year 2007

Haze or army of two? Whats call of duty and bioshock doing on there?ff7isnumbaone

Bioshock is on there because it has a good shot at being the greatest shooter of all time.

Call of Duty 4 is on there because it has amazing graphics, proven gameplay, and a trusted developer.

Haze... we know little to nothing about.

Army of Two looks like a giant co-op orgy with bling-bling skull helmets.

As far as how far the bar is being raised all at once, Crysis approaches Half-Life 2 levels. My only questions are will Crysis be as incredibly modder-friendly as Half-Life 2 was/is. It launches witha complete SDK pack for modding ^^, and the level editor, and theres already a full lenght Multiplayer game mod in development (Obsidian Edge 2) , so hopefully :D.

Needless to say though, Halo 3 & UT3 will be the online games to play. One of those 2 will win Online FPS award.

Hell yes, I'm insane. However, my idea of a shooter isn't walk a few steps, fight a boss, walk a few steps, fight a boss, etc, etc. A shooter should be a nicely-balanced run-and-gun/puzzle/action-adventure. Bioshock looks like a MYST-type game with a gun. You know? Yes, you do. You truly do.

And as far as comparing Bioshock to Myst.... that is lunacy. Bioshock is one of the most intense shooters I have ever seen.

And it will have plenty, of puzzles/action/bosses/run and gun/amazing story/ foreboding atmosphere/brutal violence/ weapon modding/ hacking mini-games/ wicked powers. That's what you wanted right?

This is an excellent year for shooters.
I would like Call of Duty 4 for win SOTY, but it will most likely go to Crysis, HL2: The Orange Box or Bioshock. (Thats all IMO).

Its a very comericial franchise ... long since the days of when MARIO actually had the best of his genre .... but hes still worshipped as if it was the greatest thing (today) for gaming on nintendo..

Can I tell you the truth? I am a big fan of Metroid, but.... the final stretch of MP2 really let me down.

I had just got decked out in the Light Suit and all other manner of badassery, and the game just goes, "hey mofo! You're not done! Go backtrack through th entire world and find nine keys you ho!"

Well fair-do's Halo 3 I like the look and feel off when I played my mate's beta, but thats the kind of refinement I excpect in Halo 1 or 2 ... Halo 1 ............. I mean seriously .... what the hell.
