No, I do not think they should. If they do, however, they should name it Pippin 2, just for the lulz.
the controller will prob be touch screen LMAOOh god the controller would probably be even more simplified and dumbed down than the Wii's, example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BnLbv6QYcA

They don't have to. MACs are getting some game supports (still not comparable to PC) so they might want to start with their OS first.
.. I can't stand the majority of their hardware.. They are extremely EXTREMELY overpriced for what you are getting, while at the same time holding the fad that EVERY one must have one.sSubZerOoAgreed. The console would probably look cool, but cost an outrageous amount. It would make $600 look like a bargain.
No because the current three appeal to everyone Wii Casuals/Long time Nintendo fans 360 Hardcore gamers/Casual/Just want a game console PS3 ?TR800PS3- want to play the awesome PS2 games and great PS3 games. Well at least that was my reason.

Well at least that was my reason. Yeah people constantly say that the Wii is a rip.. Think what apple would be like when they sell stuff like Ipods for $150 or more, a device to carry music around!.
[QUOTE="masiisam"]Yeh their laptops and PC's are overpriced.TR800
True...but...when introducing a new product into a new industry... If they don't get purchased... they fail.....brand will carry them only so far....
Apple will have to bring something more to the table to be competitive...... and that would move the industry forward
I love Apple so I'll be all for it. I love their user interface, their hardware is sexy, I love their software (i.e. Mac OS X >>> Windows Vista/Windows XP, iMovie>>>MovieMaker, Pages>>>Word, Numbers>>>Excel, Keynote>>>PowerPoint, GarageBand is awesome, iWeb is awesome, iPhoto is awesome, iDVD is awesome, Address book works great, the new Safari is slick as hell, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro are the best movie editing and sound editing programs respectively).
I own a Macbook, an iPhone, and an iPod shuffle. I'd love to add a slick little apple console to that.
I imagine their system would close the gap between the Wii and the 360/PS3 with visuals and features comparable to those systems but with the best user interface and the casual appeal of the Wii.
They know what there doing when it comes to the Mac, but the Ipod is a distinctly average Mp3 player. If people bothered to open their eyes and shop around for alternative cheaper and better performing products they would see that apple is handing them a load of crap.
When the console is made by either EA or Apple, it's a bad thing. Automatic bad thing, man. :Pmasiisam
When is more competition a bad thing?
Apple should make a new console IF and ONLY IF they plan to fully support the device. Similar to MS, Apple needs to jump in head first and get wet or dont worry about it. If Apple were to create a console their current ho-hum attitude towards gaming needs to change. They need to aggressively seek third-party support and pick an audience to cater towards. People would like to assume you could make a all-customer-happy-box, but in reality it wont happen. So basically Apple would need to unleash an all out war to shake up the industry.

Where is all the Apple system hate coming from? I doubt its from people who actually own a Apple system (other than ipods). Until you use the system for WORK, you have no idea what you are missing in terms of functionaity and security. But hey, when in doubt with a Windows box, rebuild!!!

macs are awesome if you want to pay $2000 to equal a $800 PC. OSX is hardly better than vista and windows 7 looks promising. bottom line is that apple charges almost 3-4 times than a windows PC of equal quality and equal capabilities. On top of that, to be able to play games you have to dual boot windows!!! how bad is it when you need a second operating system just to play games?The fact that if you're buying an Apple, you're paying way too much money for an inferior system. That is your opinion, not a fact....I can respect someone's opinion, but when passed off as fact is when I raise the BS flag. Game On...[QUOTE="FatalDomain"]
