i think so. Even if they don't spend a lot of time making it, a decent online in the world of rapture would be awesome. It would be pretty simple: pick a plasmid, weapon, and then kill eachother. Well, they might need to equalize everything, but still it would be AWESOME!!

no.

(imo)

I didn't see it working before and I don't see it now. that would require a kind of weapons balancing that might muck with how the SP is experienced.

If it makes sense.

In BioShock's case, I think not.

I will say negative just because of how well everything worked in the original BioShock.

As cool as lighting my friends on fire, swarming them with killer bees, or freezing them and shattering them with a wrench would be, I don't think there'd be a way to make a good, balanced multiplayer mode for it.

Nope, no real need. you are ALONE in a city full of strung out 1940's lead pipe weilding mad men. not really a good Premise to go on a co-op mission

Eh no. Bioshock isn't really the type of series to have multiplayer.

No. Its a singleplayer game whose entertainment comes from atmosphere. That doesn't translate at all into multiplayer.

Nope. BioShock was great to me for what it was, and that was a focused and well done SP game. I think I would like any sequel to stick with that formula.

I would rather all of the development focus is centered around the singleplayer.

i agree that multiplayer isn't everything especially with an amazing game like bioshock, but i still think it could be cool. What if they had something like horde, where you just fend off waves of enemies WITH FRIENDS or just a coop, either one would be cool. What do you think: biohorde or co op?

I don't care for multiplayer in case of BioShock, and if that would mean that single-player would be undercooked, big NO from me. I'd rather have solid and unforgettable SP experience with no MP, than dissapointing SP and MP in one.

It would be easy enough to put it in but to make it good would take away from the single player experiance and people would mark the entire game down if it wasn't good so i'll go with no.

Devs might feel the pressure to put multiplayer in games because it seems like thats the direction gaming is going. While I do believe that multiplayer adds value to games....some games should steer clear of the multiplayer modes.

If both modes can co-exist in other games (especially single player oriented games), it sure can work in Bioshock 2. I'd be all for it. It would at least add some potentially awesome replay value.

The problem is really not if it would work but work well together. If they spend alot of time making a sub-par multiplayer option that could had been time spent making the SP better. If you look at it not much games has both excellent SP and MP.

No, not every game needs multi-player to be fun. I'd rather have a quality single-player only game than a rushed game with multiplayer.

Why change something that isn't broken?

Absolutely not. Why build a multiplayer game that will be played for a week only to be bulldozed over by Call of Duty and Halo? Put the development time and money into the single player experience.

Hell no.

They should focus all of their resources on making the game as good as possible, and ignore multiplayer altogether.

No, no, no, no and even another no for good measure. Why? just look at Metroid Prime 2 for a good example, could have been as good as the first but instead because not all the time was focused on the single player like with Prime 1 it fell short in a few areas and was like a step ways for the series and in some places even a minor one backwards imo. Just so they could have some terrible muiltplayer just so you could play 10 mins with a friend say it sucks and play a better muiltplayer game like TS2. Not say Metroid Prime 2 was bad at all by any means, but Prime 1 was easily the better one. So why should we have another repeat of that Bioshock?

Multiplayer in Bioshock? I sure as hell hope not. Because if it ships with multiplayer it can only mean one thing: the story mode's been compromised...

i was fine w/ none in bioshock. but if they actually put time into it i would consider playing it. i think it could be pretty cool, but it is definitely not needed in that game/sequel.

I think the idea of the original Bioshock, and part of what made the atmosphere so awesome, was that despite the fact you're trapped in an underwater city crawling with creatures, you also feel like the most isolated man in the world.

Multiplayer would only ruin that feeling, and make Bioshock feel like yet another generic online shooter.... Let's not go there and ruin the game.

No, it's weapons are too complex and too numerous(including the plasmids) for a multiplayer.
