Should console makers take high-tech measures to stop underage players?

playing really need to die, i hope next gen consoles come with cameras or some kinda sensors to detect the age
of the person so they cant play mature games (at least online), i cant stand 12 years olds, i swear to god i want them dead

i hope to god that consoles are able to somehow detect the person playing so they can stop underage players, i believe that they are the number on cause of losing in Team deathmatches and objective matches.
i cant tell u how mad i get being the top player in COD4 and BF: BC only to lose due to suky team members

hearing their voices on psn or live gets me soo freakin mad, i swear i just wanna burn them alive.

maybe congress can enforce strict penalties so sony, MS make such measures.

What would you think of your 12 year old son playing a game like GTA? You'd be against it, right?

I am absolutely tired of people trying to blame the hardware/software companies for their lack of parenting. Parent's need to learn to grow a pair and discipline their damn child. There is a time to be a friend and a time to be a parent and when it comes to mature content it's obvious which side to choose.

People against this, think of this.

What would you think of your 12 year old son playing a game like GTA? You'd be against it, right?

I think the developers should indeed do something like this, but I'm sure the kids could get around it.

The problem is it's not the publishers responsibility, nor is it our governments. It is the parents responsibility and since there are parental controls already in place for current systems, what the TC is talking about is an infringement on our privacy and 1st amenment rights. Yes, I know, it's quite a novel idea, parental responsibility...

I have an 8 and 6 year old....and I will take it one step further....they will not play games as "I See fit"...I don't care what the rating is on the game cover...being an avid gamer myself.... I will make the determination on what is acceptable for my children...

i wouldent mind if i had a daughter and she played mature games, in fact id encourage it, but if she suks online i wont allow her to play it...i think parents should be focused less on wat they limit their children to play and more on making sure their good at the game, and if not, then they should force them to stop playing.
