Im trying to decide if i should buy gt5 prologue do you think it will be better than Forza 2?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
well it looks better
i dont think its better but the full game will be
Its defiantly worth the 40$ so go buy it
$40 for a demo?, just buy the real game laterMad_Rhetoric
Considering the real game wont be out til a year from now (bookmark it) I dont see anything wrong with it...plus it has online play which will add a lot of replay value.

Wait, I thought uncharted was graphics king? OHH thats right everything on ps3= god
Uncharted came out in November, it's now April. I think it's entirely possible in the course of five months for a game to come out and be an improvement graphically. I'm not making an absolute statement because it hasn't released here in the US and I haven't personally played it yet, but from what I've seen GT5: P is definetly looking tops.
I've bought GT5P and its well worth it! It cost about half of most other games and has the same, if not, MORE hours of game play and replay value. Its essentially a demo but its also in development so it'll receieve updates throughout the course of the next year until the full release is out.typevuspecII
That's in Europe. It's ironic actually. This time I feel the good ole USA is getting shafted by Sony. Not only do we get the demo late but we have to pay more for it. In Europe the game is less then the price of a regular game but in America this game will cost only 1/3 less the price of a regular game.
imo, no. you pay 60% for 10% of the game and it's far from finishedAlways-Honest
odd, i only paid £17 which is only 34%
if you like gran turismo type games then yes. there are a,b,c class events (s-class is unlocked after you pass a-class). it took me quite a while to get past a-class, it was a very hard (imo).
even then i still have tons to do. i only have 11 out of the 71 cars which all really really handle differently (the ford gt is mental, the amount of force feedback on my wheel with that car is insane.) I still have yet to get gold in the a-class races and have yet to try s-class. then there are the car manufacturer events for every single manufacturer in the game. Then there are time trials, quick tune options, 60fps at 1080p with outstanding visuals.
All of this for £20 (apparently some people got it for £17 which i say damn you!). its worth every penny id say.
I would never tell anyone to do what I wouldn't.
My plan is to rent the blu-ray version first. If I can get over the shock and awe of the graphics and still want to play more, I will probably buy the DD version. No way I'm buying this game without playing first.
But that's how I treat 98% of the games I play. So, to each his own, I guess.
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]i'd wait your paying 40 dollars for a demo, then when the full game comes out you'll be paying 60...so all together 100 dollars..Taalon
awesome reply there, because we all know that its not true the wealth of the world is owned by the minority something like 1% of the population which means since thats not true we all have money to spare.
Heres some simple facts for the TC
Regardless of what cows, lemmings, or any one says this game is a demo simple as that, its a taste of what your gonna get in a years time when the FULL Game releases, there is no info on weither or not people that buy GT5P are gonna get 40 dollars off the full game when its released so the safe bet right now is if you do happen to buy prologue and you want the full game when it comes out, you will then have to purchase a 60 dollar full game that you all ready paid 40 dollars for the demo of it.
Does that sound smart? or even good? Even if i was a fan of racing games (thats right to hell with forza, or PGR...ect* I mean hell if this happend on an 360 game? the cows would be decrying it left and right! oh my god its a demo! you have to pay out twice to get the game.
Your paying 40 dollars for something that if you wait you could just pay 60 dollars for and GET THE EXACT SAME THING but more of it!
P.S: taloon you obviously dont know the value of a dollar.
P.P.S: on 2nd thought correct me if im wrong taloon now that i've reread your post a few times...i am unsure if you are backing up what i said...or if your pointing out that the difference in paying out this amount of money and that is meaningless.
Firstly...my name isn't Taloon. Secondly, if he buys this now, he will have something to tide him over till the release next year. I would rather buy this now instead of having no GT5 for a whole year. Lastly, he's hardly going to go bankrupt after buying a $40 game and then a $60 game a year later.

ok that cleared it up, and sorry taalon...as for that I really pity you that you'd be willing to pay 40 dollars for a demo, and then a year later pay 60 more dollars for the full game...but then again you rich right? rich people tend to be willing to pay as much money even for stuff they really dont gotta pay it for.

Um maybe because its good use of your money? why pay for a demo? when you could save that 40 dollars and then buy the full game? why buy the demo and then the full game and spend 100 dollars on just a game? no wheel, no pedals...a game for 100 dollars...
Why would someone buy the demo unless they we're the most hardcore of GT fans? i mean what reasoning is there? in a years time your geting the full game...so why buy the demo and waste 40 dollars? simply put buying GT5P is a waste of money, the full game is gonna come out, you could save that money for other things...like food...or other games..
P.S: you REALLY don't know the value of a dollar or what poor really means...when your poor you dont waste money, you dont spend money on wasteful things, and simply put GT5p is a wasteful thing its a demo, that if you want it your being forced to pay money for....I say be paitent buy the full game, have a lil paitents use that money towards the full game, or other games.

Why pay for live when all you have to do is wait for PSN to add the needed in-game XMB and Home and you have all you need for free?

No it's not. The cars look awesome but the enviroments and tracks are pretty bland. Switch to the in car view (Not the one with the dashboard.) and you'll really see how bad the tracks look. There's a ton of detail pop in, jaggies and low res textures. Uncharted looks better in my opinion.
As for physics I think Forza 2 still has the best. The physics in GT just feel a little off. Not to mention what happens when you actually hit something. Seems a waste to try and create such realistic looking graphics and then shatter the illusion the moment you touch something.
If you're really looking forward to GT then definatley get it since the full version won't be out for quite some time. It'll also help you kill some time untill MGS arrives. Maybe wait a month or so untill after its release though. I live in Japan where it came out a couple of months ago and there are plenty of 2nd hand copies floating around for about $20.
yes you should, i consider $40 for a game that will last you a good couple of months to be a bargain, the onlines good and cos of the inability to upgrade your engine the main game is more challenging than the full game (anyone whose tried to go from 16th to 1st in one lap in a Altieza(sp) will know what i mean), plus the cars are harder to aquire
there is plenty of game in there so ignore people labelling it off as a demo

Agreed i do not own the game but i have only ever seen the game on sale for expansion pack prices!
That alone makes it worth the money if you like GT and racing games.

Dude for godsake its just llike an expansion pack arghh no different so go moan with your rather opinion based rubbish at the PC forums where a lot of games are based on Expansion Packs or in this case a prequel pack.
So i brought SoulStorm for 2 Extra Races for 20 Pounds but oh no thats a waste of money when i could just get the original DOW with 4 Races! Its upto the individual and expansion packs have been around for a long time this just happens to be a prequel pack!
