Should I ditch my PS2 for a 360?

I originally put this in the 360 forum, not knowing where to put it, but some guy mentioned the PS3 and it got locked and I got a TOS, so, I decided to try here. Hope I'm right.

This is something that has been bugging me for quite a while. I still play my PS2 a bit, but that's because I don't have anything else. I really want a 360 (especially while it's in the Spring Bundle), but I'm just really conflicted. I don't know how much I'd play my PS2 after I get a 360, but who knows. I still have plenty of games I don't have done all the way, but, augh, I want other opinions.

Also, what do you think I could get for the below on eBay?

1) PS2 Slim

2) 1 fully working controller and 2 that only have 1 button that doesn't work.

3) PS2 Digital R Driving Wheel without pedals.

4) 3 memory cards, 2 Sony, 1 Nyko.

5) 10 games: Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3, X-Men Legends, Gran Turismo 4, Nicktoons Unite, Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Enter the Matrix, MX Unleashed, Kim Possible What's the Switch?, Star Wars Battlefront

Like I said, I don't even know if I will sell these, but, what do you think? Should I trade up?

I'll note it's also a hard decision because I just got this summer 2008, after waiting to get one ever since I first heard about it in 2001.

I wouldn't expect more than $50 for that on ebay... Maybe more depending on the condition of the games. They go CHEAP these days.

Yes I would upgrade to a 360. Personally I'd go for a Ps3 but since 360 is cheaper....

sell on Ebay. You'll get more. Get a 360. It's cheaper. I still have my ps2, xbox, and gamecube. But I've never ever touched them in the last 5 yrs. they just sit in a box in my closet.

Since I've never bought or sold anything on EBAY, I don't know the climate of it, so I can't tell you what you'd get there.

However, I do use Craigslist alot, and there your package is worth 50-60 bucks approx.

Personally, I recommend a PS3 over an XBOX 360.

Yeah, that's the thing. I want the Elite, especially with the spring bundle with Forza and Halo ODST, so I can get all the storage. After all, I do plan on going online and getting betas, some arcade titles, etc... I mean, isn't that one of Xbox's biggest selling points?Obiwan456

Yeah, I definetly want to, it's just a matter of money. Right now I need $280 more. Oh, and I'm going ot sell 2 of those memory cards for sure, because I bought them to sell. Was only 50 cents for both! Maybe IF I can find a bunch of stuff at garage sales, try to get money that way. IDK.

don't sell your PS2 but get an arcade 360 and there are rumors a lite 360 is coming at E3 next month, if so expect the Arcade to price drop

Personally, I totally see a Xbox 360 (Lite or Not) this summer, Arcade for $129-$149 and Elite for $249-$299

If you get the arcade, its got enuff memory to download a few XBLA games but not much but enuff to play all the retail games you want

You could later buy a 20GB HDD off ebay for cheap, 20-$30 or so, though they retail for $50

Or get a 8GB flash drive for $10 at a store and use that for your Xbox 360

Either way, the PS2/X360 combo is great. You obviously can't own all of the systems considering its hard on our economy right now, 360 isn't shabby by any means

If it breaks you've got a 3 year warranty from MS, but the new Jasper 360s aren't as likely as the older models

Infact, check out any local gamecrazy stores around you, they're closing so they're liquididating their whole inventory

honestly keep the Ps2....and if you still want the 360...just save up for one.

because trust me,if you get rid of your PS2,you'll regret it considering the Ps3 ditched BC.

It depends what kinds of games he wants

360 and PS3 share so many titles, that it comes down to

1. What do your friends own and will you play online with these friends?

2. Do you plan on wiring it to internet?

3. Which exclusives do you want?

why downgrade yourself with a 360 ? stick with the ps2 imo

Looking at your list of games I'd say ditch the PS2 and get a console from this gen.

Thank you. I'm not saying I don't want a PS3, eventually, it's just right now, the 360 is the one that's kinda hit for me. As for your questions,

1) Sadly, my friends are lacking severly (read: none at all, lets say, things change). So I'd probably be a thing of playing with strangers, which sounds kinda creepy, but it'll do.

2) Yes, I plan on using an ethernet cable to connect to our modem.

3) As far as exclusives, I'm interested in Alan Wake, and at giving the Halo games a go, other then that, I'd need to look into it a little more.

AS far as the thing of having to pay to get online. Well, I almost have a 50 gift card from a survey site that I got an email about from Game Stop, so, I guess that's that for that.

That's not a bad idea. I'll have to check and see what they have, and prices. But thats one possibility.
