Should I dump my Wii for a PS3?

Ok, I was one of the PS3 early adopters who basically wasted $500 on a console that had nothing to show for itself except a few mediocre exclusives and a slew of substandard ports. I sold my PS3 about a year ago and got most of my money for it (sucker!) and purchased a Wii. I did this knowing I might pick up another PS3 down the road when some halfway decent games actually showed up for it and it had a price cut or two.

Ok, I am absolutely sick of my paperweight that is the Wii. Anyone claiming this system is actually fun or entertaining is lying through their teeth and they know this no matter how hard they try to hide this fact. Please no Wii fanboys because I could care less about anything you have to say about this last-gen has been of a system.

My question is, should I sell my Wii and get the PS3 now, or should I wait until Christmas hoping that there will be another shortage where I can get top dollar for it (and the PS3 will have better games out by then)? Also, what games should I pick up for the PS3 at that time?

Thanks! Oh, and thank God for the 360.. its kept me as a gamer when the other systems have failed me in the last couple of years.

owned...and yeah man, i think you should go for it. The ps3 has so much going for it and it's getting better and better with the upcoming games :)

Than for the love of... put some firepower in that PC buy a copy of a quality game (FPS, RTS, RPG... whatever) and screw consoles.

well if you hate games like galaxy, prime, zelda, zach+wiki, etc by all means get rid of it

you can get a ps3, but i'd reccomend getting a 360 instead.

the only good game that the ps3 has that the 360 doesnt would be mgs and maybe ff13versus

just get a 360 and get gears of war and stuff

If you have enough money to buy the EBgames franchise then buy all consoles and go away.

The point was how much you want to spend on a console.

Why would I want to keep my Wii when I don't get any enjoyment out of playing it? I wasn't asking if I should keep it, I was asking if anyone thinks I can get more for it during the Holidays when they run into more shortages.

I sold my Wii for a PS3 a few months back and have not regretted it.

Plus, the Wii is still selling for near it's MSRP on Ebay and such, so you won't have too much of a loss.

The price is actually $400 for a 80Gig now. Theres also more games coming out.

Don't worry.. When I get a PS3 again it won't be for MGS4, i can assure you that. Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, and littlebigplanet would be the reason, and yes I know they aren't out yet. Which for the 3rd time is the topic of this thread.. should I wait till Holiday season to sell the Wii & get the PS3, or is there a better reason to do it now?

If you already own a 360, you won't be getting too much out of your PS3 other than the occasional exclusive. I know. I own both. However, the Wii is pretty damn awful, so you might as well go for it.

I would wait. You'll get more for the Wii, and PS3 games are slow right now anyways.

IMO yes...

While the WII is good it has no really good games coming out...and it just seems like a passing fad now that gamers realize that this systeam has nothing left to offer..how many zeldas and marios can you take before you get freaking tired of it..IMO PS3 has much more fun and gamer oriented games coming out..

I told yall not to get the Wii in the first place. I am a big Nintendo fan and the Wii is just terrible. So I decided to get a PS3 instead and it takes care of my gaming needs just fine.

Keep it and get a PS3. Thats what I did I got both and its like the best of both worlds.
