Should i get a 360?

Lately i have been thinking about getting a 360 elite. I am fresh off the PS2 and have been with sony for 14yrs now, but the PS3 doesn't look like it has anything interesting, and i want a diffrent console experience from what i got. I didn't have the xbox and the only thing that kept me from buying it(and it only) was GTA, but thats multi-plat now . Now I am looking for good online and a diffrent experience from the PS2(i had enough of Jrpgs and luckstur online). So the 360 is more appealing to me now, but people say its going to have inferior graphics and library(just like the xbox) in the future. So should i buy the 360 or just stay with sony.

PS: my favourite genre is FPS and the ps2 had very few of them, and i playwd about 6 final fantasies and i want more WRPGS(like kotor).

both the PS3 and the 360 have great shooters, in my opinion the 360 has the better overall library

this year in fps ps3 is coming out with Haze Killzone2 Resistance2 and Socom Confrontation. It already has CoD4 and Unreal Tournament 3. If you dont know whats coming out for ps3, do some research, nothing on 360 really interests me so i cant help you there.thageneral3

Yeah, I'd go for the 360. Seems to cater to your tastes from what I've read. PS3 is much like PS2 in the fact that it's got virtually the same controller, same feel, etc.

actually i thnik Haze will A while killzone 2 will be AA, what i find it funny is that the PS3 has all these shooters comming up yet the 360 is the shooter only console remember?

Also knowing what we know now about the X360 and all it's hardware issues I couldn't feel good about recommending someone spending their money on it.

less expensive? huh.... no? even if you use the xbox live as way making the 360 more expensive i can use the lack o backwards compatibility as way of making the PS3 more expensive, so it really comes down to what you want, not to mention the cheapest 360 is 279euros while the cheapest ps3 is 399 euros, theres a diference

better graphics? uncharted is arguably the graphics king ok, but what about the other games? specially multiplats? arent most of them better on the 360?

According to my blog, i used to own all three consoles and i sold them all, to stay with only one. And I play halo and halo 2 o my PC.

Also i will get a console version of a game than a pc, because i hat installing and slow loadtimes.

I just wanted to know how bright the future was for 360 and if it would worth it to make a radical jump from Sony to MS. Also what wrpgs does each system have. I also had enough of sony and want a new change so is the 360 suitable for me?(i made the jump from nintendo to sony after 16yrs of nes and snes and never regretted it).

There aren't enough WRPG games on X360 or PS3 to justify a purchase. Personally I think it would be too scary to buy an X360. The defects are still around, X360 got outsold by PS3 in 2007, it's going to get crushed in 2008. X360 costs more, the games can't keep up graphically, and it's way too expensive. I really don't see any appeal to the X360 system at all. X360 had it's year so if you are buying it to play last years games maybe, but for 2008 and beyond it's all about PS3. Also don't downplay the significance of Blu-ray. It's a huge advantage especially if you own or plan on getting an HDTV in the future.

if you want a great library of games with an amazing online service. 360 is the way to go.

Ok thanks man, your the only one making a logical answer, i just said will it suit my prefrences and all the fanbiys here start a war! OK then i am going to get a 360 elite and finia the fight. Actually, i am a halo:combat evolved player, i love it and sometimes i play online. First i have to get halo 2, and then fish the fight. So you sure 360 has the best wrpgs and fps, then i am.......ready to abandon kratos and snake(much harder), and move to the master chief and the gears of war guy. Hope MS will make it worth my while..... and good luck sony!

I have 360 for 2 years now, and i have literally MELTED in gaming, with some stunning titles

Lately Mass Effect takes most of my time, 360 is worthy just for that game, it is not a game, it is an experience

And of course that is only one of the many stunning 360 games out and coming

In 2008 there is Alan Wake and Fable 2, and frankly i have never seen as detaield, next gen looking and HUGE worlds like in those two games

And again, those games are the tip of the iceberg

I think RROD, wont be fixed until 2009. Al least MS fixes and ships it for free. When i first bought a PS2(1 month after launch) it got DRE after 9 months and it cost me 50 bucks. The second time it died after a year and sony actually wanted 100 bucks to fix it! Then i bought another new one, as they cost 170 then. The third time it kept freezing and after a yr and then i exchanged it for a slim, and since 2005 it has lasted.

Ok my (late) game of the year for 07 is..........

Call of duty 4. It is the best game i played in 07 both in the pc and 360(my friend's) and i enjoyed the 360 version more (You say you enjoyed the 360 version better, do yourself a favor and don't go against your instinct).I also played bioshock and assasin's creed and bioshock comes as a close second and assasin's creed sucks. Cod4 should've been goty for 2007, though SMG is a great competitor. I can't wait for COD5 and i feel the franchise is a breath of fresh air for the FPS genre, go call of duty

:roll: This is the mans BLOG, he stats its his friends and that he enjoys the 360. I own both systems and honestly love my 360 and have high hopes for my PS3. I want it to do good and get a better library and actually have an on-line system that's worth a damn! You say you like FPS, the best this about FPS is being able to play them on-line against your friends and the 360 gives you that experience. The PS3 Lack Luster PSN is free and the system looks cool and since I own both and prefer to play 360 on-line because I love its easy I simply use my PS3 as a blu-ray player at the moment! If you buy a PS3 and go against your gut..... Well I think your gonna be kick'n yourself everyday because you knew better!

If you saw my blog, you can see that i borrow my friend's(wii60 owner) 360 and wii all the time, so i played with them. The reasin for this thread is i never played a PS3 and i never knew anyone that had a PS3. I play frequently on my friend's 360 as we live close by and i sometimes buy games for it. So far i bought two(i pre-ordered crackdown, bought mass effect) and also i bought SMG and twilight princess for the wii.

Me pretty soon..thats is about it. Btw the 360 and ps3 are sharing the most gams.

I own all the systems (Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii). Here is my take.

Xbox 360:

More Games with more variety, Better Graphics and Frame rates (for now at least, PS3 is no slouch though), best online experience. Great interface. Better console (I never include PC in this) exclusive games (Mass Effect, Gears of War, Halo 3, PGR4). Best controller out there, but heavy compared to PS3 (but that might change as PS3 will be adding rumble soon)

PS3:

Blu-ray (if you have a high def TV then this is a big plus. Toshiba dropped HD-DVD yesterday). Integration with the PSP. Free online play. Reputation for better quality hardware. Built in rechargeable battery on the controller (good and bad thing), and WIFI is not extra and works well. Motion Controles (I dont like, but some might) Quite system compared to Xbox 360.

Something I would look at is what your friends have. Online play is best with people you know.

Good luck on your choice. You will be happy either way.

Actually of all the games released to date only 17% are shooters - it just seems like 360 has alot of shooters because there all quality unlike ps3 ones.
