Look at the libraries of each system and decide on which one interests you most.

This wont end well....

But the Vita has dramatically superior power, better controls, dual analog sticks, better onlinet network, and amazing PS+ value. What it lacks in overall library it makes up for in high quality games (Gravity Rush, Persona 4:Golden, Little Big Planet Vita, Mutant Space Blobs, Uncharted:Golden Abyss, Sound Shapes, etc etc)

The 3DS is a bit cheaper and will have a larger library.

You would probably like both.

What are you after in games? I have both vita and 3ds, i choose vita all the time because the games suit me more.

You shouldn't ask this question on SW though. Most will say 3DS and bash Vita just for the sake of it. It gets alot of hate so remember that before making your choice.

The Vita is the better handheld, much better. But Sony really has no plans for it. Would you rather a system that has games releasing now until the end of the year and is supported by developers, or would do you want a Vita and wait for Sony to act on their vague 10 year plan for the system...

I have both, like both. Get a 3DS, it's actually got a long term future and its library is better right now as well. Vita is something you should wait for a clearance sale on. It's worth owning but it's not worth 250 dollars, or even 200 (I paid 150 for my 3G Vita, four games, a case, and an 8 GB memory card).

Would you like to actually be able to play games on the handheld you're going to buy years down the road?

Because if you would, you should get a 3DS.

3DS, It has a much better future. Also better first party and a better chance at getting third party games.

The only correct answer is to tell you to look at both line ups and make your own decisions.

They're entirely different system in every way. Vita has no games right now, but is a great system. If you really want something now, get 3DS. Unless Persona 4 Golden is a system seller for you.

My advice isto do your own research as you're on a freaking gaming site for freaks sake. Also, don't ask these kinds of questions on a section of the forums where fanboys dwell and will give lopsided biased opinions.

"Vita has no games" Well lets see.

Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, Unit13, Hotshot's Golf, Playstation all Star's Persona4, Ninja Gaiden, Ragnarok Odyssey, Wipeout, And Lumines. Not to mention a massive variety of games off the Playstation Store. Also has some good non exclusive's like MGS HD collection&Rayman. To be honest that's a far better line up then what the 3DS did in it's first year.

I'd say Vita, while it is lacking in a lot of support from developers, that is widely due to the lack of sales.

It's a great system, it feels great, visually it looks great with the screen and the capabilities with the hardware, with a lot of great features.

With that being said, its definitely worth what you pay for, and if you support it the outcome will be good, however the 3DS is cheaper, and currently has more supported developers.

It all comes down to what type of games you like, but preferably I havent enjoyed a handheld as much as my Vita and I don't regret it one bit, and I own both.
