399.99 for the cheapest 80 gig model. For the more expensive 160 gig model that comes with Uncharted, it's 499.99. Except I ehar one place online has it for 339.99, as I saw in a topic today on System Wars. I'll dig it up for you in a little bit.

Well i guess i'll tell you somthing from the other side.

The Xbox has more FPS and TPS. Halo 3 and Gears of war being just 2 and also 2 of the highest rated and selling games of this gen.

As for RPGS, the Xbox ha the edge in both Jrpgs AND Wrpgs. Although if you're into more tactical Rpgs, then the PS3 is King.

As for Price, the Xbox is dirt cheap and has a huge back catalogue of great games for you to buy on the cheap.

Xbox live comes at a cost, although it is better then PSN, it's hard to justify the price tag. It also has more things to download, videos, demos, and HUGE amounts of exclusive DLC for some of the biggets games this gen. Fallout 3 and GTAIV spring to mind.

I see you've decided on the PS3, but there's somthing for you to think about.

Ive never known anyone personally who didnt have an xbox that didnt have to be sent in for repairs. I guarantee that if you get one, it will break. Chances are they will fix it under warranty it but its really annoying and very common.

Ps3 is:

-more reliable, its not guaranteed to break

-free online play (the way it should be)

-blue ray

-dedicated servers for the big title games (i.e., sony runs servers allow up to 60 player matches, no lag, and no host advantage.) Xbox doesn't do that even though you pay them a subscription fee.

-built in Wifi. If you get an xbox, it will cost $100 (new).

-upgradeable with a hard drive of your choosing. You could almost get a 500gb hard drive for the price of the overpriced microsoft 120gb one they force you to buy.

-Web browser

-it has many of the same multiplat games that the xbox has (e.g. cod4)

-you can use any bluetooth headset that works with your cell phone(with xbox you have to buy the microsoft one)

-Great exclusives (mgs4, LBP, R2, Warhawk), IMO the upcoming ones look more appealing than anything xbox will have next year.

-IMO the PS3 is capable of doing more graphically. Thats debatable of course, but I believe with the upcoming games you are going to see the ps3 doing things the xbox simply cant accomplish

On the side of the xbox, it has netflix and a couple of really nice exclusives that I would like to play in the future. It simply has more games. Most of them I wouldnt care to play though. More people use mics, but thats a double edged sword because listening to little kids can get annoying. Faster online downloading (demos, patches, movies). The ps3's download service is reaaaly slow.

Get a PS3, Sony really needs help.

This topic seems pretty done, but I'll throw in my 1.5 cents: I wouldn't worry about the price of online, since $50 isn't going to make or break you, and getting online for free isn't so amazing that it should steer you away from the 360, either.

If you have an HDTV, buy the PS3; what it lacks when compared to the 360 and its library, it makes up for with an excellent blu-ray player. On the other hand, if you don't have an HDTV, get a 360, because while it doesn't have quite the amenities of its Eastern-manufactured brother, it's got an extremely solid library of games that easily eclipses that of the PS3.

Either one is a solid gaming choice; at the end of the day, it just comes down to whether you're completely focused on games, or want the more multimedia-oriented experience.

that's a matter of opinion I see the PS 3 library as superior to the 360 games like MGS 4, Little Big Planet, resistance 2 in mine and other opinions eclipse halos and gears.

You said MGS4 and Resistance 2 so that is two exclusives for sure you like.

Do not buy into all that hype about which systems library is better. Go with the one that has the most exclusives you want to play. Multi plats are not that big of a difference to really cause a fuss about.

Continuing on to the OP

Since I own all the systems I think right now the 360 is the better buy because it has more titles out right now that I like, however I don't think I am going to touch my 360 in 09 because of the amazing PS3 line up and the addictive PC (Sc2, Diablo 3, Empire) games. Notice how I said I like, and I think, because they are my opinion on the line up, because noone can tell you which lineup is better other than yourself.

Now the point of what I said is this look at the games out and that are coming out make a list of games that you are dying to play for each system, which ever has the most or your favorites get it. The only person who can say which system is better is yourself. Don't let people tell you the 360 is better or the PS3 is better or PC is better because its just their opinions. You could do a pro and con list a mile long but if that system doesn't have games you want to play, then that console is pretty worthless.

One game can't own all those games, however I have to admit I can't wait to get Doom 4 on Pc, but its probably not coming out until 1-2 years after Rage another game I can't wait for. I was raised on ID games., but to say one game is better than all those is just plain untrue.
