I'm wondering which I should get?  I've heard of a lot of bashing of the PSP on here and people saying the DS is so much better, but I just don't understand why it would be.  Alot of my friends have PSP's and they look like are really nice gadget to own, not just b/c of the games but b/c they can be used as an MP3 player and movie player.  Are the games for DS Lite THAT much better than the PSP?  I can clearly see the PSP has more hardware, 333mhz processor close to PS2 type graphics whereas the DS is comparable to Nintendo 64's graphics, this fact leads me more toward the PSP.  So what should I get? by the way, I'm 18 years old and really like sports and racing games.

Sports and racing games, the PSP has too many of. You'd probably enjoy the PSP better not only for those type of games, but for the multimedia functions as well. If you want a variety of quirky original games, then get a DS.

yea if you like sports and racing games get a psp. BTW the psp has more then double the amount of great games then the ds has according to gamespot. The psp is also winning gamewise on ign. But again if you like sports and racing, the psp is def the way to go.

For me, the DS is definately the better machine. But for your tastes, I'd recommend the PSP.

get both. I say the games are way better on DS, but other than Mario Kart and .... well Mario Kart (but it is the best portable racer) there isn't much in your interest.

Since you like sports and racing games, I'd say PSP is definitely the way to go.

If you're looking for a multi-funtion gaget, go with the PSP.
If you're looking for a good portable game system, get a DS.

I had a PSP for about a year and I waited for some good games to come out......and I waited some more.
The GTA games are good, but they are better on the PS2. MGSPO looks great, and Burnout was fun, but does it justify the purchase?

On the other hand, I've had more fun with New Super Mario Bros. than any PSP game.
And Mario Kart online is more addictive than crack.

If you want an MP3 player, get an IPod. The PSP was too quiet for me and the battery life is only so-so.

first you have to understand how you're going to be using the portable device.  Will you be at a power outlet?, are you going to be in the same area for a long time?

The PSP doesn't have good battery life, so you're going to want to make sure you don't plan on using it at random places for long periods of time.

Next is what types of games do you want to play.  The psp is great for console type games, but the DS has much better portable games that you can pick up and drop at a dime.  Also the DS has the GBA library which has some fun games.  I wish the DS had more games with better save systems, but it's not too bad.

As far as homebrew their actually even though DS homebrew needs an addon.
