[QUOTE="donwoogie"][QUOTE="perfect_chao"][QUOTE="donwoogie"][QUOTE="perfect_chao"] i realise if i get it for PS3 i wont have to pay for my online anymore on the 360, however there will probably be more players on the 360 version, and its getting exclusive content which we dont know if the ps3 is yet
anybody have both consoles but dont know which version to go for?

I have both. I'm getting the PS3 version.
Reasons: It may not get DLC as quick as the Xbox 360, but it will get it eventually. The large amount of dosh MS paid R* with is for 2 DLC pieces with the second one to be released before Q1 2009.
I prefer the controller (personal preferance, this is not an attempt to start a war)
PS3 has sixaxis but I have never really seen it used in any way that didn't feel like an afterthought. Sam Houser of Rockstar has said that GTA will make use of Sixaxis in a meaningful way (hopefully helicopter control and some other cool stuff, like integration into the cover system or for the balance minigame when holding onto the back of vehicles)

I live in a house with 5 other dudes who will probably want to play GTA on whichever system I get it for, but with the profile system, if any of them just want to get 6 six stars after all the game features are unlocked and whatnot, they'll have to keep logging into my profile to access the save with that accursed Xbox 360 profile system which I hate so much.
is sixaxis really a good enough reason to buy the ps3 version?
GTA is probably my favourite franchise of all time. Without DLC, I will be putting in at least 200 hours of gameplay in it. Every GTA game so far, I have played through at least 8 times from start to finish including submissions. If I am going to invest this amount of crazy time into a game, I want to do it with the controller I am most comfortable with and, tbh, the Xbox 360 controller hurts my fingers after playing for more than a few hours in a row (not a hate comment, it's just that, the bumper buttons are higher up and the two nubs of the base of the pad are larger than the PS3 one and I grew up with the Playstation systems so even now, after having my Xbox 360 for a year, it still feels alien. Just personal preferance I guess).
What you posted makes no sense. The Xbox 360 controller is so comfortable. Do you have little hands? If you're so crazy about GTA why would you even consider it for PS3. You'll be missing the definitive version. Your lost I guess. I have my 360 version already paid for.
As I said, matter of preferance. The fact is, extensive use of Xbox 360 controllers makes my fingers ache. It's fine for a few hours at a time, but for longer than that, I'd only be comfortable with my good old PS3 controller.
And you say definitive version, but the PS3 will get DLC at some point and I'm a patient man. That and the profile system bugs me to the point where I get most of my multi-plats on my PS3.
