Should I go out and plunk down $349.99 for an Xbox 360????

Well, now i know FOR SURE that haze has failed completely (I played the demo and it sucked, but I just wanted to make sure the final product was just as bad). My friends are all like "Buy a 360 so we can invite u into our games!!" and i've been kinda on-and-off about the topic since the 360 came out. I would've bought a 360 back in early 2006 and not waited for PS3, had i known it would be this sloooowww for this long.

So anyway, I gots a PS3, but now im thinkin bout a 360. My question is, what's in it for me if I get one? I cant get an arcade, since I want an HD cable with the thing but the Arcade SKU doesn't come with an HD cable. I also pretty much needs a hard disk. However, what games are there coming out this year that will actually be cool to buy (Besides for Gears of War 2, which we already know will destroy all other games).

i guess im just nervous about investing in a second console. I've never done it before. Only had a PS2 last generation, only had an N64 the generation before that.

I bought all 3 systems this gen, a DS and I do pc gaming. 360 is a nice system to have, i just finished bioshock again, and i'm now playing mass effect for the first time, I would not want to miss out on those games, neither should you.

go for it! 360 has plenty of great games to ocupy you till 09 or when ever the good games start coming to PS3

what does Haze failing have to do with anything?

anyway if you like the line up of games, then go for it.

Yeah, i just saw something online that says Xbox 360 has like 4 times the amount of 80/100 or higher Metacritic-scoring games as the PS3. But I will probably wait a bit and see if E3 or some other thing has Microsoft yelling price cut for me, because if that happens i'd basically hop right into my car and drive to best buy and get one.

I can wait and be patient, GOW2 is not til fall (I think) and I am still planning on getting Metal Gear Solid 4 and playing it through.. unless it "pulls a Haze". Thats my new phrase. Use it freely ;)

Did you really expect Haze to do well?? I mean seriously it was a flop from the start.

After the 360 dying on me with the RROD I decided to wait to get another one till they fixed it. I didn't realize it would take 3 - ?? years to do so. I am even beginning to doubt if they will fix the problem at all.

I say, oh well saves me 50 more bucks a year for another PS3/Wii game. :)

I would recommend 360 by miles

The machine simply delivers better overall, more games, more variety, stunning visuals, a huge game library, huge games with many hours of gameplay etc

If you consider

- the stellar lineup 360 has released, games like Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Bioshock, Halo 3, etc

- the fact that PS3 offers nothing in RPG's this year, bar two strategy RPG's, and xbox 360 has 3 Strategy RPGs, two of the most huge RPG's ever created, Fable 2 and Too Human for hundreds and hundreds of gameplay hours, with Fable 2 beeing easilly GOTY material and co-op

- the fact that PS3 has no JRPG this year, when 360 gets Tales and Infinite Undisocvery

- that Gears 2 is the most wanted shooter, has some vast spaces and huge wars this time, and stunning visuals that the best of PC's would be jealous of

- the fact that Viva Pinata 2 is a huge simulation game to play for months and Banjo 3 seems one of the most innovative coming titles

- that 360 gets a host of PC games, like Alan Wake, SPlinter Cell 5, Dungeon Hero, Precursors and will keep getting more

- that is cheaper

- gets Ninja Gaiden 2 in a few weeks

etc etc

I can only recommend a 360 for all the above, PS3 has Resistance 2, LBP, Motorstorm 2, Valkyria, Disgaea 3, Haze, and Metal Gears Solid, but frankly i do not see them compare in the slightest to the above 360 games, at least as i see it, they are just not big enough in gameplay features, and gameplay hours

So it is unthinkable for me to miss on 360, the games are just must have ones, imo above any PS3 title this year
