Ok I currently own an Xbox360... I am growing tired of the support and issues and I am seriously thinking of getting a PS3... while watching the Ninja Warrior marathon on G4 today... waiting for the Microsoft Press conference and E3 preview tonight... I saw an E3 preview thing pop up during the commercials... It stated that the PS3 will be re-released later with an 80GB HD model for $599.99USD and the current 60GB HD model will be repriced to $499.99USD... I really love my 360 and the achievements of Xbox Live, but I am growing tired of the many problems... I wanted to know some of the advantages and disadvantages a PS3 has over the Xbox360...

I don't just want someone to come in here and say that the 360 stinks... go by a PS3... I want real evidence of why and real reasons to turn in my 360 for a PS3...

Thank You

Sorry if this has been asked before...

Also the reason I got the 360 in the first place is because it came out a year before ps3 and I didn't want to wait and play socom combined assault for another year...

I also do not want to own both consoles at once... i will play one more than the other and waste money... that or i will spend all of my time instead of the current most of my time playing games....

yes please go ahead and do that. sell your x360 and buy a ps3.

and you don't seem to need much convincing, as you're already contemplating the matter.

your logic of thinking suites you very well. follow it and buy your ps3.

and if you need more convincing, cite the x360 problems of which you're growing tired to yourself (several times if you have to), and you'll feel strongly about your decision.

so go ahead, start citing, and let us know how it goes for you and the outcome of your decison

The Ps3 is a better multimedia machine, whereas the X360 is a better gaming machine. The Ps3 has Blu-ray, 7.1 sound etc, whereas the 360 has more/better games, is cheaper, has so far proven to have better graphics/framerates, has a better controller (has rumble/more comfortable), has a far superior online service (PSN is a mere shadow of Xbox live).
The Ps3 is a better built system, with an amazing cooling system (very few hardware failures) , whereas the 360 is a poorly built system that has a lot of hardware failures (Msoft did just extend the 360 warranty to 3 years for the 3 rings though).
The Ps3's internal software is lacking though, the OS takes up a lot of internal memory compared to the 360's, memory that could be used to run games.
Hope this helps a little.

Just buy a PS3 without getting rid of your 360. Can't afford it? Save up. PS3 isn't going anywhere.

Keep or keep the console that gives you more interest, or more games your into. If your willing to wait (well...your waiting either way for both console/games)...keep or get what you'll wait for.

you don't have a problem with your X360 even if you can't put disks in it?!

how far broken your X360 needs to go before you have problems with it?

Go replace it right now! Hurry, or E3 will start and you may actually have to use helpful information to base your choice!

I can only give my view as a person who has never had a problem with a 360, so if you've had problems, your view probably differs from mine. With that said:

When the price cut for the PS3 was announced, I seriously considered picking up a PS3. However, after the low-price buzz left my head, I realized something: this doesn't remedy the fact that the PS3 doesn't have any games. Browse through the PS3 "new releases" week by week here at Gamespot and you'll see what I mean. In the next few months, there really isn't a worthwhile game coming out for PS3 outside of Heavenly Sword and Lair (which doesn't particularly capture me). Any worthwhile games, besides those 2, coming out for the PS3 in the near future is also available on 360.

More importantly, the 360 has better games coming out now. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Too Human, among others, are games only coming to either the 360 or PC, and they're coming out NOW (relatively).

However, if you're looking for a future investment, the Amazon deal on the PS3 is great. A PS3 and five free Blu-Ray movies for $499? It's a steal in terms of value. However, there's no reason at this point to replace your 360 if you already have one.

The evidence points towards getting a 360. There are a gazzillion topics like this every day, it grow tiresome. In short, there is nothing on ps3 this year that will make you want one, so stay with the 360 for now!

If you don't want to play Halo 3, don't really care that you're trading in an already proven great lineup with alot of games for an unproven lineup of games that is playing catch-up, you want to waste $100-250(refering to the fact that at the most you will get $100 less than what you paid for you 360, I'm not calling the PS3 a waste of money),and you really want a Blurayplayer, then go ahead and buy a PS3.

Keep your Xbox 360. Save up. Buy a PS3.

Don't worry about overplaying. When you have more then one console, you suddenly have a larger library available to you, but you won't be forced to buy all of them. It just means that you can skip more mediocre titles, which allows you to have a better gaming experience overall.

Do you have an HDTV? Also, do you care about online? On top of that, do you want new series or just sequals?

not very logical on your part but you'd be a fool to get rid of your 360 for a pos3 now, can't u see what's going on?

sony is losing, and do you have any problems with your 360? The way you talk you DONT have a problem but are scared, and if u do you get it fixed for free so whats the big deal?

you'd be doing yourself a favor by keeping the 360 cuz for long, sony will only be able to rely on whats made through sony , cuz they are losing 3rd party support left and right, plus the best versions of all the games are on 360

SO KEEP YOUR 360!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm.. your Xbox 360 is currently the host of an "Out of Order" label? Perhaps this changes things. The problem with PS3 vs. 360 is, depending on your taste in games, the Xbox 360 has more quality content currently available. If you buy a PS3, your options will be severely limited, and this will likely continue through the first half of 2008. While Resistance may last you a good while, the 10-30 hour singleplayer-focused experiences (Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted) make up the majority of the PS3's 2007 line-up; however, the Xbox 360 hosts quite a few 30+ experiences (Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey [guess]), and many multiplayer-focused titles. Yes, the PS3 will likely improve, but that's a gamble... a costly gamble.

In my opinion, both consoles are just great, but the Xbox 360 is currently the more appealing console.

well i dont listen to the ppl who say that the ps3 is better for multimedia and the 360 is better for games, cuz i like some ps3 games better than the 360. so just look at the games for each console. see which ones u think are better, and choose the console that has better games. sure, music, movies, and other multimedia features are good, but it all boils down to the games.

ppl pretty much gave u the pros and cons already, but I think you should at least wait until E3 is over to make a decision to trade/sell the 360 for a PS3 as they will annouce most, if not all the games coming out this year for both systems.

If you like 4D and 120fps in 1080p get the PS3
