Right now, my PS3 is getting all my game time. My wii has been colleting dust for MONTHS, occasionally being turned on to make sure my brawl skills are intact, then turned back off for another few months. I'm unemployed, no money, and spent a month trying to find a job, and so I'm desperate. I been itching to get my hands on pokemon platinum and in the near future, scribblenauts, so I'm thinking of selling my wii to fund a DS.

The problem here is that I have quite a bit of sentimental value attached to my wii (LOL, keep it clean) because of the memories i have of waiting in line for it in the freezing cold and snow for 12 hours with some amazing people. Also, I dont want my brawl skills to rust(also, i have no desire to get any currently announced future wii games). I'm torn. I realllly want to get my hands on a DS, and it seems the only option is to sell my wii.

Opinions plx?

I always thought that selling a console in exchange for a handheld is ridiculous. And you say you waiting in the freezing cold to get it; I say it isn't worth it.

Selling consoles is the smartest thing in the world. Its not like we're still in the middle of this gens life-cycle, and more games that will possibly interest you will come out.

I've been waiting since 2006 for "games that might interest me" and so far I have bought 5 games for my wii, and returned 2 of them. You can defend it all you want, but next to a PS3 or a 360, it's very clearly of lesser quality in terms of games and value.

If nothing in the 2010 lineup interests you, you waited all that time in the cold for the wrong console:P

DS has some really good games, if the Wii ones don't interest you, go for it. Platinum is pretty good, and GTA:CTW is awesome.

I'm against selling systems, but I'm in the same boat. I prefer the PS3 and I've not played the Wii in months either. I'd probably say no don't sell it, but if you really want a DS and it's your only way to get one then maybe.

Do whatever you like. I'm not really interested in handing over advise to someone who is asking a fanboy forum for its opinion on their own purchase.

If you dont play it anymore.. no game out there interests you and upcoming games like SMG2, Zelda or Other M aren't must haves for you.. sure why not? Better turn it into money than letting it collecting dust.

well, it depends on if there's any wii games you want to play. I don't own a wii (kind of wish I did for the newer games) but I do own a DS. DS is by far the best handheld I've ever owned and it has some of the best games!

wii does have the new metroid

no more heroes

monster hunter

muramasa: demon blade

so it depends on if you like those kind of games. I'd personally just save up for the DS and keep the wii. I find that when I sell items for other items, I usually end up dissatisfied.

I don't know why anyone would want to sell any console. Unless you're going to make money off the selling... if not, why?

Beacuse I haven't used it in months, it's taking up space, and it's better to get as much money back for it as possible as opposed to letting it sit around and decrease in value.

if you're unemployed and have no money i'd forget about gaming and get yourself a job first.

No one wants to hire a 17 year old :( everytime i fill out an application, there's a little box that says "Are you between the ages of 18 and 65" and check "NO" :( so im gonna try to job hunt again in a few weeks after i turn 18. Might stand a better chance.

Wii is for little girls, housewives, and toddlers.

Handhelds are for spoiled children who want to win an award for best shown in show & tell on Friday's.

If you aren't either of those then your screwed either way

Wow, you're just racking up on horrible posts.

Anyways, I suggest getting the DS.. If you're not using the Wii you might as well sell it, the DS has a great library also.
