Lets be honest, they dont have enough original I.Ps under their belt for something like Brawl but would you like seeing something on a smaller scale regardless? I think they could pull something off.
Thoughts?

Someone else beat you to the punch already, I'm afraid to say.
The point still stands though. Certainly a SSB game would not work. Not when ever character comes from a shooter.
I wish there was an XBLA (or indie) SSB type of game. Could be games both on steam and XBLA to make the roster bigger I guess.
That's off the top of my head. Most of those have supporting characters also. I could actually see some of those being really fun with character-specific moves.

So many things they haven't done anything with in a loooong time.
I might have said yes if Rare was doing it about 3 years ago and it had all of their characters.Cherokee_Jack

They should have a $60 bill as a character, you know.. the $60 xbox ppl pay to play online to remind them :P

Where does that factor in when it comes to them having the ability to make a crossover game with a lot of their own characters?
Microsoft has more Ips than Nintendo and you say they can't make anything like Brawl? Are you stupid? Yes you are.Shirokishi_

To be fair, I had no idea who many of the characters were in each SSB game when I first played them.
I cant believe how some people are pretending like MS really owns a great and recognizable roster to have a cross over. They dont. carljohnson3456
They have more Ips than Sony and Nintendo and you think they can't make a bigger roaster? Not even including the characters in those Ips (where that applies)The list includes 3 titles that start with the word "Kinect".

My honest thoughts? Anyone that thinks MS could seriously make a smash type game is deluding themselves, instead of them getting upset at PS3 owners and blame us for their problems they should get pissed at MS instead because they don't give them good enough exclusives.
Call me crazy but the SNES and PS2 had enough exclusive characters to make a rather decent crossover game... It's not that MS hasnt had enough time to build a decent first party cast, it's that they dont have interest. It's too early for Microsoft, maybe in another generation or two they can give it a go once they've built up more franchises. Because right now they'd have Master Chief, the Gears of War guy, and a bunch of characters people only care about because of Nintendo platforms (ie the Rare characters). Not exactly a lot to work with for the kind of game where fanservice plays a big role.

The argument was not that they didn't use them, but they didn't have many and not enough diversity. Which is false.
If Xbox had it's own cross over the characters would be:
Halo:Master Chief, Noble Six, Arbiter
Gears of War: Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Anya, Carmine
RareWare: Joanna Dark, Conker, Banjo/ Kazooie
Forza: The Stig
Alan Wake: Alan Wake
Fable: Hero of BrightWall
Losy Odyssey: Kaim
Blue Dragon: Shu
Third Party:
Call of Duty MW2: Ghost
Ninja Gaiden 2: Ryu
Splinter Cell Conviction: Sam Fisher
Well let's lay-out the possibilities:
Nothing else really pops out as significant enough to be in a SSB style crossover, so yeah, the roster wouldn't be that big. But with that little list, you could have multiple characters from the same franchises (much like Nintendo did with SSB) to make it work.
Combined with the list I have that adds up to like 23 characters. If Xbox had it's own cross over the characters would be:
Halo:Master Chief, Noble Six, Arbiter
Gears of War: Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, Anya, Carmine
RareWare: Joanna Dark, Conker, Banjo/ Kazooie
Forza: The Stig
