Its pretty much a given that the next Sony and Microsoft consoles will have atleast 500gb HDD standard. I think they should both come to an agreement that both systems should have mandatory game installs. This would mean developers can create the games optimized for the HDD's and have much faster loading, run better...etc...

Is it a given? Hard drives are notoriously difficult to cost-reduce. There comes a point where you can't make a platter of glass and a tiny, high-RPM motor any cheaper.

Should we have the space, and should it be beneficial, then I have no problems with it.

Make them optional not mandatory. It is so annoying when you start a PS3 game and have to wait for it to install. And worse when you have to delete older games to make room for new ones.

Why not just buy a PC then?

I mean seriously. What's the point? Exclusives? That's it? What, 10?

*** that, lmao.

The Wii is the only thing in this gen. even resembling a true console, and i'm not hating.

One reason I love 360's install option. I do it for every game.

Personally I think harddrives are more important for data cache than installs.... I think MS was stupid for having a hard drive less SKU... It at the very least should have had 2gigs so all games could take advantage of data cache.... Sony on the other hand installs of the games dont seem to help load times.... Installing on the x360 atleast is a true install and allows the game too fully load the game from the hard drive soo the disk doesnt have to spin and cause unnessecary wear and tire... Installs on the Ps3 on the other from what I see copy data that is used frequently in the game to the drive for slightly faster access....

Please no mandatory installs, optional is fine but they don't need to be PC's.

You should ask Microsoft.

It's their fault that the standard doesn't exist on todays HD consoles.

Installs still need to be optional regardless of how big the Hard Drives get.

Mandatory installs shouldn't be required of every game, but they should allow mandatory installs if the developers find it necessary, like Sony already does.

It should be available as an option.
