not the same, as a consumer, Ive already paid my part for the game and its development costs. I WILL NOT buy the PC version if I have the PS3, so there would not be a loss on their side. However, if i am allowed a download, it will not hurt them but make me more loyal to them and future purchases as a consumer and owner of multiple consoles. See what Im saying? That's like saying that if you bought a car, your mom should get one for free:P

actually it would be more like buying a car, and it only being able to be used in a single city, and you have to buy another identical car that's used in another city. Your paying for information, the problem is that information is being restricted to a platform and you have to buy the information again to use on other platforms. I can see the logic in the TC's, but this would be problematic for royalties, and exactly who'd shop gets to crossover from consoles to PC. If anything I could see M$ being the only successful company to implemented this crossover with games on demand. Not even remotely. It's like buying a car and wanting a 2nd for free.

It's not like that at all. Especially when taking into consideration that these companies want to push that you are buying a use license, rather than the game itself.
I enjoyed playing Portal 2 on PC after playing it on PS3, so I would like this to become common practice.

I think you guys are taking my point too literally :P
I'm simply saying that you would be getting a product, that you would otherwise pay twice for, free.

well a car is a physical object, buying 2 you get 2 to drive around in, buying a game the only physical object is the medium in which its stored onto. We might be taken in literally but there isn't any other way to interpret it, on one hand you pay for 2 separate things, on the other you pay twice for one thing to use on separate things. It would be a nice gesture but no, it's not going to happen unfortunately, Valve did it with Portal 2 but I'm pretty sure the only reason they did was because Sony paid them to do it (Steamworks integration and a free PC copy isn't the sort of thing you just randomly decide to put in one version of the game)bobbetybob
I believe it was just Sony that didn't wanted that Steam feature(I don't remember what it is called) that lets you buy a game and download it for any platform(obviously it has always only been MAC or Windows) and somehow convinced Valve of just doing it one way with the PS3 version. Maybe preventing a possible clog of PSN from just partial Playstation consumers or something.
Man... gamers and their sense of entitlement... Why not just get the PC version? What is the reason for even owning the console versions... especially with BF3?foxhound_foxbelieve it or not foxhound, but alot of people still haven't converted to PC gaming.;)
This goes strait to my Preferences on where I want to play MP but yet I want the superior experience my pc would offer. If i get a ps3 version of bf3, shouldent I be entitled to the download version of it for PC without resorting to piracy? Why should I have to pay for another version. My IDEA makes sense because downloads wouldent cost them like for packaging, etc. I think some company did it for some game, I cant remember. What do you guys think? deadlyabdus123No you shouldn't be entitled. WTH is this, you think you are something special or something? You want the PC version then you are just going to have to buy it like the rest of us. Really the things people post and they way they think really cracks me up anymore.
if the ps3 version is downloadable, YES, no loss to them if they wouldent purchase it otherwise. See my logicdoes that differ from wanting a free ps3 version of a purchasedxbox 360 multiplat?

No, it truly doesn't.
[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]if the ps3 version is downloadable, YES, no loss to them if they wouldent purchase it otherwise. See my logic There will never be free digital copies of games on other consoles because of licensing fees. The practice of getting a free digital copy of a game with the purchase of a console copy will only work with the PC.does that differ from wanting a free ps3 version of a purchasedxbox 360 multiplat?
