Should Sonic Team be outright permanently replaced? Pending now?

Lets see, the best Sonic game is still not as good as the worst Mario game. Sonic is the most overrated mascot in gaming. So yes, kill it with fire. Nintendo needs to buy Sega.

Cmon, Sonic has a long lasting tradition of mediocrity that goes way back to the 90s and it's wrong to want to change that.

Yeah they should've been replaced with the Sonic Mania team. Comon, let's be real for a minute.

Sonic Superstars has a high 9.0 user score on Metacritic. Sonic fans seem to be enjoying it, regardless of what critics think.

I mean, fans do seem to like the games lately, so, yeah.

No, Sega seems to love it even if others don't. People buy them enough to warrant the effort.

As long as Sega is willing to publish other IPs I am less concerned about their Sonic boner, it was more frustrating back in the days when they refused to publish sequels to Bayonetta or Vanquish but oh wait let's make more Sonic because that is what the masses want, and baffled me it took as long as it did for them to recognize even the Persona or Yakuza series had legs to stand on beyond being locked down to PS hardware... honestly it just pisses me off just thinking about it but I am glad they finally saw the light.

But don't be pissed off they're making more Sonic games just because they make more Sonic games. If you think they should be making something else instead, I'd love to hear what you think is so important it means abandoning their flagship IP, the mascot of the company. And if you say more Shenmue I might laugh myself to death.

I don't think they need to disband, but maybe have them try something less ambitious. Chu Chu Rocket was fun, make more of those. In the meantime, that guy that made Spark: The Electric Jester could do Sonic.

It is a long discussion whether Sonic is better than Mario. But I'd safely say that the best Sonic games are way superior to the worst Mario games. The first 2D Sonic games are some of the best ever made. If only Sega could make more of them. We need more Sonic Mania stuff and far less 3D Sonic and pseudo-2D Sonic.

I don’t know. For me, Sonic kind of fills that void of wanting to play “okay” games as a break from the awesome games out there, so that when you return to the awesome games, they feel even more awesome because you just spent so much time playing a merely decent game.

I’ll probably get Superstars after completing the amazing SMBW a few times, so I can appreciate the game I play after Superstars even more. The best Sonic games are still a good time overall, despite their annoyances.

I have never seen the appeal of Sonic and even when I played the original games back in the day, I felt they were bad.

I had to Google that as it's a term we don't use here. Then I had to Google Mario and Peach (because the Mario series sucks) and they're not married so no he's no a cuck, since Peach is stringing him along i'd say he's a simp lol.

Sonic will always better the better franchise.

I'd love to see Nintendo's main Mario team make a 3D Sonic adventure game. I think that would be very interesting.
