I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that the console is headed nowhere. All the developers are finally starting to realize that this console can't measure up to their expectations and if they continue to develop for it their company will go bankrupt. I feel bad for Sony and all but they should just quit while they're behind and leave the gaming industry with their tails between their legs. They gave it their best shot but unfortunately Sony's best is hardly comparable to Microsoft's worst.iunderstand
[QUOTE="Flame1"]the ps3 is selling faster than the 360 did when it was released, and the 360 didnt even have any next gen competition at the time.Nagidar

Why are you adding stuff to my post? And it doesn't even make sense.

Fact is, the 360 was sold out for a long time, it was hard to find one (Not nearly as long and as hard as the Wii), the PS3 was sitting on shelves within the first 2 months. Yes, it has competition, but so does the Wii and its obliterating the competition.
I think fanboys should just give up trying to undermine it's ability; whether you like it or not, the PS3 is here to stay.DementedDragon

Agreed, competition does nothing but benefit me, the consumer, companies have to compete for my dollar and I like that.

sony is not better then 360 what games do they have that aren t comin to the 360 this year or in the future-hypnotixx-I love your spelling . The ps3 still has some life, but if sony continues to give away those exclusives it will indeed die eventually .

Yea but then you gotta spend more money on buying all consoles. Â

Yes and that doesn't bother me as long as what I'm buying is worth the money and right now, the only console thats not worth the money is the PS3, which, I'm sure, will change some time in the future.

If everyone were to buy all three anyways, then why are they competing? That's kind of the point of competition.

Heavenly Sword, Lair, Tekken 6, MGS4 (Probably a subsistence version come out later for 360 & ps3), Motorstorm, Resistance, God of War III (not for a while anyway). That's only from the top of my head.

To be honest i really hate posts like these, what is it going to prove if Sony gives up? The X360 will get one less competitor and the only one will be some lightweight (Wii) meaning they won't have the urge to go one up and produce better games than their rivals.
I didn't like how Sega stopped manufacturing consoles and wouldn't like Sony to do the same either who have revolutionised the gaming industry in their own way.

It isn't so much as the diversity of systems that drive the competition as much as the games that each system gets to itself. Aside from the obvious features a system has, it really comes down to which has the games you want the most. However, one change that is evident in this generation is how similar 2 of the 3 competitors are in terms of system power and features. And it's a great thing because what made the Nintendo-Sega rivalry so great was the first party games.Â
The playstation franchise survived off the tremendous third party support given in the past two generations; whereas Nintendo proved it could be just as successful without it. Now that Microsoft is in the mix, Sony is forced to share that once 'exclusive' third party support and now has to rethink it's strategy of how it can stay alive this gen. From here on out, we're going to see more first party games being made by each respective company, which could more than likely recreate that 'Nintendo-Sega' era.
