Too many companies are scared of this upcoming gen being unprofitable to them. Too many speculators are thinking the home console days are coming to an END. Why not just make 1 console and split the profits 3 ways? It's all about that licensing money and they could do that if they wanted to.

Microsoft's business model is already impossible for me to support, and there are rumors floating around that would make it very difficult to support Sony next gen if true. All 3 companies collaborating on a single console would probably not be a very good thing.

Sony is copying ms and making PS PLUS REQUIRED. I don't doubt Pay To Play Online in PS4. There are a lot of things Sony hasn't revealed yet.
It wouldn't be any more expensive. just wii plus x360 was more than $600. All 3 have wii remotes now playstation plus and xbl gold are both required next-gen and both are THE SAME THING!!! Rehashes are about all they do anymore anyway.

Well, I'm still holding out hope that that is the case. I just wouldn't be surprised at all if online play falls on that second tier. We will have to wait for the official announcement.
