Ok, Sony has made many mistakes with the PS3, but not that bad. The Phantom was a huge mistake. They gave it to a company to test and they wrote a whole article on how poorly done it was (Parts of case tacked on with super glue, yikes!). Then after the company published the article the makers of the Phantom wrote the website a really nasty letter on how they were going to sue them for leaking information, so the website put the letter on their website and counterclaimed. After it was all over there was no more funding left for the system and the reputation for the company was trashed. Sorry I can't link this now, but you'll find it all just search google.
