Should we have the System Wars Awards?

This was brought up by @kuu2 in the lounge recently

Sure, why not.

Short number of categories and it'll be good. But i think we should call it something like "User Awards" or soemthing to make it abit more clear and stand out.

We did 2 years ago. Some users took it a bit too seriously, and decided to call upon an admin to lock it down, because of a simple error. They could've contacted the people in charge, but they didn't. Probably because they didn't want to let people know who they were. It happened before, just not as anonymous. People get upset over the System Wars Awards, and they still do to this day.

SW exists out of trolls, bandodgers, and alts. We could try, but don't expect people to line up to vote.

Mods should not be allowed to be nominated.

We have ways of making them vote...

Oh, I was going to just suggest making a bait and switch thread about boobs...or one that praises the WiiU above everything else...then when they enter expecting boobs/WiiU they have to vote.

These awards are symptomatic of the talent show mentality modern socaity has developed. No longer happy and self-assured, they constantly seek validation - however shallow.

I kinda think we should figure out some stuff first. Categories? If its about System Wars and not the posters outside of 2 or 3 awards then it shouldn't be too bad.

Sure! I think the community we have right now in System Wars, albeit small, is full of decent regulars, those who are here too much, and lurkers to make it work. :P If it's all in fun, why not?

Maybe this year we keep it the same in terms of rules but limit the categories, but why not try some year having a preliminary round where you nominate users/threads/games into categories, and then you have the final round where users can see the users who are nominated and vote for them?
