Gears is a very ugly game IMO it's gfixs are not as impresseve as people make them out to me IMO Unreal Tornament 3 looks better even thou it's made with the unreal engine. whitch is probly why I thing gears is ugly cuz I hate the look of the Unreal engine and poeple keep using it. it is easy to use or somthing?

Its one of the best engines currently available for purchase, unless you are Silicon Knights, in which case you sue Epic and claim that the engine and the company is horrible and attempting to undermine your decades in development game.

way to spam the images. But i dont know because i havent played all of the games which are supposed to top the graphics i cant judge of screenshots becuase everything can be nitpicked. PLaying the game is how you judge. Although i have played Gears 2 and it is really great even though i only played the first mission or two.

You know your truth. I have my own truth, since I actually disagree with you, but to each their own. I also have a few games I would put ahead of both Gears 2 and MGS4.

Honestly, I think those screenshots for MGS4 make the game look a bit clean and plain to a extent versus the ones I saw for Gears 2 in this thread. It's a dark gritty detail world, versus a more practical but detailed style. Of course there are some better moments of MGS4. :P

Someone having a different opinion than yourself is hardly denial, especially in something as subjective as graphical preference. Its like telling someone who prefers Picasso that they are in denial since you like Jackson Pollack.

I am too lazy to find the source but someone posted a link months ago that stated MGS4 had a really low amount of polygons in their character models, while ive read here on GS that gears 2's model (specially weapon models) have up to three times the polygons of Gears 1's models.

Thing is, artistic preference will always be subjective. Technical specs are meaningless to me. Its all about what looks the best to your eyes. The rest is just fluff and PR talk to me. Like I said, is a photorealistic painting any more or less art than a Dali painting? Its all in the eye of the beholder, regardless of how many triangles or polygons the game throws out.

Consoles are really bad for bullshots, the inability for most users to take screenshots from their games really makes it difficult to judge a games visuals. I'm not questioning whether it's console graphics king or not, but the first GOW had a lot of bullshots lying around.
