I love it so far. But not so many great games out now beside Zelda and Blur. Still many good ones.
Let's say that for now, it's just the warm up. Q3-Q4 is gonna be great.
got a wii on launch day in europe. the machine itself intrigues me. that controller can really be somethig else when used properly.
however the games have been a bit of a let down so far. zelda was great, COD3 was solid (though no multiplayer was a bit of a squib), red steel was alot of great ideas with mediocre execution (the game needed at least another 6 months in the oven) and wii sports is a great tech demo (not dissing it). but 3rd party games overall have been a bit lacking (with exceptions of course) and top notch games are hard to come by, especially in europe.
still it is only 5 months in roughly. devs will get their head around things as time goes by. i expect to be wearing down the bearing in my wiis disc drive by the end of the year with great expectation for the following one.
I only want one way down the line, perhaps in 2009 or so when the price drops. While games like Super Paper Mario, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and about ten other games with the prefix "Super" sound tempting, those alone will not satisfy my gaming wants for an entire generation.

[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"]Don't have one, don't want one.
It's last-gen hardware with next-gen price tag, and last-gen games to boot. Weak online + no HD are also deal-breakers.

My thoughts exactly. Don't want oneÂ
Would you want one if it was 200 dollars, and had awesome exclusives?
The PS3 was a gamesystem and a supercomputer that launched right beside the Wii. What do you all think of it when you compare it to the Wii?gamespot813
Bought my Wii launch day and haven't regretted it once since.
As for the games, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not having any trouble finding games I like. Zelda, of course, but also Trauma Center, Sonic, Elebits, Rayman, even Red Steel I liked a lot. And I still need to pick up Warioware and SPM, both great games. And then there's the VC...

If it had an awesome FPS which totally nailed the control system, and it was online..then i might change my thoughts

It's interesting to note, some fanboys on SW have been claiming that they too bought one at launch and haven't touched it since. Glad to see someone speaking honestly about the awesomeness of the Wii.
Have a Wii, loved it, got bored with it. Now I need some deeper games to come out for it.
Its a fantastic system, but I want some more games that aren't mini-games, or Zelda/Mario games. I am looking very forward to Manhunt 2 and Metroid Prime though.Â

I don't think it is. Due to the limits of the system you can't have games any more complex than Xbox games. I don't really see how the Wii-mote can change that.

Look at what the PS2 could do with God of War 2, and then honestly tell me that you don't think a system that is more powerful than an Xbox (which is much more powerful than the PS2 itself) does not have potential?
Once developers stop using the Wii-mote as a gimmick, and start exploring its possibilities, the Wii could prove a treasure-trove of potential and possibilities.
I love it. Zelda, Wii sports, TC, and madden are all great. Haven't had the time or money to invest in any new games as of yet but I have a growing list of potential buys (blur, godfather, manhunt 2 when it comes out) and it'll be getting some more playtime in when I get around to buying SPM.
Haven't regreted the decision in the least, and I have no want or need to invest in another console.

And the VC is fantastic... feels really good to play the old games with correct aspect ratios and minus the glitches that happen so often with computer emulations.Â

The Wii-mote can do 1:1 motion sensing which haven't been tapped into much yet. There's alot more potential on the Wii than other systems that I see.
Got it on UK release day, totally love it. Over here in Europe we have been a bit screwed with releases, for example no Trauma Centre, Elebits, or Super Paper Mario yet, but still plenty of good games to play.
Right now the games I'm playing mostly are SSX Blur, Wii Sports, and Madden. Q3 and Q4 of this year will see some great releases, and from that point on I think the Wii will really become "top dog".

That's right. Nintendo is back and is here to stay.
I tried to like the Wii and was kinda hyped by it around E3 06 but it all went down after it launched and it's not lloking good how it's missing a lot of great third parties and the only exclusives that I think are interesting from it are SMG, MP3 and whatver Kojima is planning to do on it.
As of now I have not much interest in it.
I did the best for my wii, sold it,he needed love and a caring house ,i needed a next gen machine,it was the best for both parties.palaric8
A "next gen" console? LOL. I suppose you bought a PS3DO? Or was it a 360, in which case how many hours did you play it before it broke on you, like most of them are. In which case you have to send it to M$ for weeks for them to "fix" it.

The Wii is a game system that was neglected until E3. The good games are coming... Right now, I'm really looking forward to a game that can tap the Wii's 1:1 motion sensing ability to its max. Super Mario Galaxy, MP3, and SBrawl looks fun but they all lack innovation imo.

Well I don't like S. Smash B games and really I don't plan to play all those minigames, to me the ''fun'' in those games goes out a few minutes after, and Zelda TP is already on GC. I also wonder when third parties will put that controller to really good use.

I know what you mean. Those minigames on the Wii are what should've been on Zelda TP. I'm hoping that Nintendo and other 3rd parties are going to put in more effort into motion sensing that "feels right" instead of stuff like shaking the nunchuk or whatever. In that case, I'd rather press a button. Right now, I'm generally satisfied with the Wii, though I think 360 would be a better choice as of moment.
Don't have one, don't want one.Don't criticize Nintendo's online till you actually see it.
