Remember that the motion sensors on the SIXAXIS weren't actually supposed to be there. They were include to just have something to compete with the Wii controller. It was never meant to be a serious feature. So it pretty much is a gimmick.
It's up to the developersw to use it.
Highlighted statment sounds about right. It was also an attempt to steal some thunder from the Wii's motion-sensing at last year's E3.in ninja gaiden sigma you shake the controller when you cast ninpo LOL

actually i like the tilt stuff, like for call of duty 3 you can use the tilt to knock out your enemy's, drive the jeep, activating bombs, etc. In motorstorm you can use it to drive the cars and bikes, in blazing angels for the planes, marvel ultimate alliance for trow enemy's away, deactivating bombs, and more.
I think that the tilt feature add something really good to the gameplay

it works ok in racing, and flying games where it acts as a wheel..
but all the other genres its just basic shaking off enemies, like in resistance, or powering ninpo like in NGS
Overall, it's a gimmick (and I'm a cow). But, there will be GOOD games which utilize it well, like folklore, lair, warhawk, and a few more. Dont give me motorstorm....it controls like crap with sixaxis.
Palindromes are cool
The SixAxis isn't attempting to be the a Wii Remote. Much like rumble, the motion capabilities of the SixAxis are a tool to enhance gaming, not the gaming experience itself. While some games are going to utilize it much more than others, such as Warhawk and Lair, other games find simple uses, such as Ninja Gaiden.
So there you are, it is not a gimmick, it is not the main attraction, it is a tool that can be used as much or as aparingly as each developer chooses. Some will take full advantage, others will take none.

"Remember"? Don't you mean "create in your memory"? I agree that it's up to the developer to utilize it, but I don't like how you present your opinion as some kind of fact from an industry insider.
Wait until Lair drops, flight games are where the SIXAXIS will shine.
I think it's a gimmick when used in the Sixaxis becasue it's not actually necessary as it is when used with a Wii. It's just there for the sake of being there. When I saw the KZ2 trailer I never thought, "whoa, I wonder how they use the tilt function in this game!"Spartan070
It's only necessary for the Wii because they lack conventional controls. Nothing is necessary, if you want to split hairs.
