I feel that the gaming industry is going to crash. With the high demand for casual games and features, nintendo's underpowered POS with no third party support and terrible controller, and MS damaging the industry with an "always online" focus, $60 to play online, no exclusives, and focus on casual kinect and kinect, it's clear; Sony is our only hope.Kaszilla

Or you could get this?
Sony the 'hardcore' hope? Sony is the original casual market magnet. It's how they beat Sega and Nintendo in the 90's. Microsoft and Sony target the same demographics of dudebro's. If you're a 'hardcore' gamer, sorry to tell you, you're shit out of luck unless you have a time machine.
Everybody in the industry seems to think Microsoft is going to win next gen. I think it's pretty obvious they will. They simply have more of a drive and more money than Sony. Sony doesn't stand a chance imo.Miketheman83

Lemmings only care about sales confirmed.
Shut the fvck up. Are you guys really that dumb? Yeah it's not like Microsoft is a freaking billionaire company that can build whatever freaking console they want. Sony hasn't won crap yet, Shut up. IT'S FVCKING ANNOYING. One cow makes a thread, and then the rest of you make the exact same thread for an invisible reasonwasted_wisdomI'm actually an ex lemming at the moment. I'm not a cow...yet.

Things sell well for a reason. People don't just spend their money on crap for no reason.This.... In a way. Still nothing announced but as much as I love my 360 and think it was EASILY the best standalone console this past gen, im not interested in giving any more freedom away to these companies and being always online is giving up everything... That said i rely on a roku box for tv which is always online and in three years it's only gone out when the power does... Ie always online never affected me once and has been efficient as hell.... Sigh.i wouldn't undercut microsoft just yet, although the PS4 is looking like the console of choice for hardcore gamers

While I'm not a fan of any of this stuff, there is a reason it sells. They are each the best thing in their respective genres.
Who is better at making catchy pop music for teen girls than Justin beiber? No one. He is the best at what he does and sales reflect that. The Wii sold because it was the best at what it did; Offered family fun with innovative controls like nobody else. It's the best at what it does and sales reflect that.
The 360 had better hardware and software sales because it was the best at what it did; Hardcore gaming at an affordable price with the highest rated game library.

This, lemmings are always happy to bend over for microsoft, look how MS abandoned the core gamers and went all Kinect, lemmings still praised them.
THis will be more of the same.

I am not worried. Especially since everything you said about MS is either an out-and-out lie or rumors.

[QUOTE="Miketheman83"][QUOTE="Davekeeh"]You overestimate Sony big time. They had their time in the spotlight. The way they operate their console is outdated and archaic, from their online infrastructure to even their marketplace. They are not the industry innovators anymore. Microsoft spends a lot of money to make their customers happy. All the timed exclusive content cost them a fortune, but they did it to name sure their customers has the clear advantage this gen. Microsoft cemented their place in the industry last gen, this gen they are going for the throat. When is it going to dawn on you Lemmings that as far as MS is concerned, they strapped a controller and a DVD player to a WebTV and started collecting your $50 a year? That's so true for the last two years. PS3 exclusives in 2011+ may not have scored as high as 360 exclusives by there is damn sure more of them. Gears, Halo and Forza have been the only exclusives for two plus years. Sad really.
Nobody has a bigger drive than Sony. We are still getting quality exclusives for our PS3, while the Xbox is pretty much dead, after all those rehashed exclusives.
Also Microsoft may have more money, but they are not willing to spend it on Lems that's for sure. Microsoft takes and gives nothing back.Shewgenja

The only thing that would probably still live on is PC gaming with their independent developers.
