factor 5 i thought did a great job with lair but it suffered from sixasas.
i thought the game it self had great graphics and once i got used to the controls (only took ten min.) it was an epic ariel battles. i loved ripping the heads off of the creatures. lair to me was fun and differant.
silicom knights just should have scrapped a ten year old idea or made a quick buck game using the unreal engine to get use to it then started too human. most of too humans dev time went to trying to figure out epic unfinished engine.
[QUOTE="Krigon"]That they made a bad game. All devs make a bad game once a while.nervmeisterAgreed.Valve ???
Can you list the game they made, im a tar confused.
Silicon Knights = Too Human
Factor 5 = Lair
Free Radical = ??
Maraos
Haze
I think each situation was different, but I would mostly chalk it up to technical diffulcities.deathtoallgods
I would chalk it up to this generation's technology being so expensive to develop for that only the developers with the deepest pockets can successfully develop a game that isn't a 6-hour-long shooter with multiplayer.

[QUOTE="angelkimne"]you better not be talkign about assassins creed :evil:Ubisoft Montreal imo. Though technically it's their 3rd game this gen :(
JPOBS
He may also be talking about Far Cry Instincts Evolution, R6Vegas, or R6Vegas 2, but Assassin's Creed is the worst stinker of them all.

It looked so brilliant, and in the end i did like it a bit, but it was a really, really big dissapointment for me.

Baulderdash. But if L4D flops then that doesn't mean Valve has made a bad game. They're still seperate devs.Valve owns Turtle Rock.

The graphics are awesome of course, but I'm not so sure about the gameplay. What crazy things can you do in order to survive an onslaught of zombies?

Yes, it does. Turtle Rock is part of Valve now. Just because you knew them better when they were separate doesn't mean they're still different devs.

They are not Valve, they are are still Turtle Rock. It may be part of Valve as a company now, but not as a dev team.silicon knights dissapointed the most, especially since their last game was so damn epic(eternal darkness)johnnyblazed88Actually their last game was before Too Human was Twin Snakes. But Eternal Darkness was their last original game.
But two of these devs. left Nintendo reasently and Free Radical left Rare while Rare was with Nintendo.

They are not Valve, they are are still Turtle Rock. It may be part of Valve as a company now, but not as a dev team.Because they are still named the "Turtle Rock team" instead of the "Valve - Left 4 Dead" team?
It's just a brand name difference, when a parent company wants to distance itself from a daughter company's works for whatever reason. But that team is still part of that company, and its accomplishments or failures should still be attached to the parent company.
Agreed.Valve ???[QUOTE="angelkimne"][QUOTE="nervmeister"][QUOTE="Krigon"]That they made a bad game. All devs make a bad game once a while.Krigon
Didn't they make Counter-Strike: Condition Zero?

I still disagree, but i guess it's all subjective anyway.it says that silicon knights and factor 5 should have a chat with ninty (factor 5 aready are making a wii game) and freeradical need to get with the times...and probably talk to ninty also :P.
nah seriously...they all messed up. it happens. better luck next time and all that. theyll be better devs form the experience. poorer but better :P.
on a side note though...isnt it strange how ninty manage to get the best out of certain devs? rare have never been as good as they were under ninty imho. factor 5 and SK both messed up as soon as they jumped ship (though its only one project so we cant make any real conclusions form that at the mo). retro initally had a few projects on the run that all looked rubbish. and kuju (the devs of conspiracy:weapons of mass destruction...a game that strugled to break 10% in many reviews) made batallion wars under nintys orders, which is a dam fine game (certainly a vast vast improvement over conspiracy).
whats nintys secret? i reckon its pixie dust from shigsys garden :P.

Didn't they make Counter-Strike: Condition Zero?
That was Turtle Rock.edit:
Developer(s):Valve Software, Gearbox Software, Ritual Entertainment, Turtle Rock Studios
Co-developed by Valve and Turtle Rock Studios, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero introduces a brand-new single-player experience to the Counter-Strike series, along with special enhancements for on-line play.
[QUOTE="Krigon"]You said Condition Zero though.
- Counter-Strike — PC (November 2000, published by Sierra Entertainment/Vivendi Games) — Retail version, co-developed with Valve Software — Includes Half-Life: Opposing Force CTF

Ok, you seem to be right.Though my excuse is that they didn't even mention that they didn't make it alone on Turtle Rock's wiki page :)
