Silicon Knights - They only have one AAA game on GameSpot...

Yet, people find it perfectly logical to hype Too Human AAA anyway.

Of course it is logical...because Silicon Knights always puts out an AAA title every time huh?

1. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain --- 7.1

2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes --- 8.2

3. Eternal Darkness --- 9.4

In fact, the ONLY AAA review on GameSpot is Eternal Darkness. Fantasy Empires, Dark Legions, and Cyber Empires were released before GameSpot was even launched. So, going by the only GameSpot reviews for Silicon Knights developed games...we have...1 A, 1 AA, 1 AAA.

Also...Blood Omen and Twin Snakes are not AAA on gamerankings either. So, no hiding behind gamerankings. But hey...it is perfectly logical to hype Too Human AAA anyway, because Silicon Knights always produces AAA titles...:roll:

That is why I don't get why anyone would say "Well, Too Human is a Silicon Knights game. So, it must be AAA material." It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. That is why I do this...:roll:...when I see posts hyping Too Human.

What is said, however, is that the game itself looks extremely original, SK is excellent at crafting stories, and if they can get the gameplay right, they'll have a solid AAA.

What I'll never get though is people hyping Too Human AAA ONLY because Silicon Knights is developing it and for no other reason. I've seen posts on here saying that they think Too Human looks like crap, but they have faith in the game because of Silicon Knights. See the difference?

I've never seen posts like that. In reality, most people resorting to the "SK is a good dev" thing are trying to find something to defend the game from the inordinate amount of bashing it gets.

it is because each time their games get better look at leagacy of kain all the way through to ED and how they improved from making an A game to a AAA game why would this trend suddenly stop all of a sudden

lol you asking questions like this is as stupid as me saying why are ppl hyping mgs AAA when only 1 out of the 3 games have been AAA the point is mgs 4 and too human both look great decent and there's nothing stopping ppl from hyping them AAA just b/c only one out of three games have benn AAA

In all honesty, I don't know. Too Human seems alright. All it needs is a release date lol

oh, you must not have heard... see when the cows couldn't stop flapping their utters at Uncharted with literaly hundreds of "mega-hype OMG" Uncharted threads and then backpeddled and hid behind AA (even though it was so obviouslyhyped AAA) because they couldn't take the pain of another flop... that let everyone else do it....

I don't have the highest opinion of Silicon Knights or Too Human but this is some mighty stupid reasoning. Historically, the Metal Gear Solid series had an 8.5 game, a 9.6 game and an 8.7 game among the main entries- only one of 3 being an AAA title.

Tons of titles from less proven developers get AAA hype because AAA games come from more than just the same 5 developers (and likewise, not everything from the big names should get AAA hype). You should be basing off what is known about the product and a game that has a lot of ambitious ideas behind it, a big budget + generous timeline, a lot of very positive press about it, a seemingly endless supply of content, is already part of a planned trilogy and comes from a flawed but still talented developer definitely qualifies as AAA-hype worthy.

Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes are two of my favourite games of all time.

Unfortunately, you have people hating on Too Human more than any other game. Because of this Silicon Knights fans (like myself) have to argue that their last two games have been amazing. Twin Snakes in my eyes is an AAA game and Eternal Darkness definately is. ED's storyline is crazy.

Too Human has beautiful graphics, a great soundtrack, and an epic storyline.

If they nail the gameplay the game is officially going to be one of the must have titles of the gen. However, even if the gameplay is decent the game will still be great. MGS (all of them), Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Eternal Darkness, etc all had meh gameplay but had great stories (besides AC).

First I will say Eternal darkness is one of the most uunderrated games of all time, easily in my top 25, and basically a masterpiece in terms of production and storytelling.

Secondly to even bring up Twin Snakes as a bad title, is rediculous. It took MGS revamped the gfx ,added cutscenes and essentially made the series accesible to the millions of people that may have missed out on it the first time. Having played through the first, I loved going through it again.

I really can't understand the trashing of SK outside of blind jealousy, similar to what Xbox fans do to SE.

Too Human is the most expensive video game of all time, I think it needs hype.LanDC77

anyway, whether they're an AAA dev or not, Eternal Darkness was a great game, and MGS:TT was a decent port

they do have talent .. enough to make Too Human a good game (likely AA, maybe not AAA from what i've seen so far)

and i do like Dyack .. he has a lot of passion and his vision of story-driven games is a great one

You know why I am hyping this game? Because it will have an awesome and unique story no doubt, put simply, the battles look EPIC, it looks like Ninja Gaiden with improved controls, guns, and skills, and it is an RPG! All that goodness and it is an RPG! Go hype that LBP (which looks like a simplistic platformer) while I hype games that actually look promising.

Not gonna happen unless SK develop Eternal Darkness 2 exclusively for the Wii and no other platform. That's because Nintendo own the rights to the Eternal Darkness IP.

I thought Ninty was in talks with SK over new games? I hope so anyways as SK Eternal Darkness was brilliant. You can tell because even capcom are even copying there ideas with RE5.
