Anyways, better than expected. Expectations were basically non-existent. Not even a Phony fanbio.

Using Spiderman whatever as the big zinger game and not MGS3 was stupid.

And while DD2 looked amazing, this is a Late 2024 title MINIMUM. Pointless to be hyped for it.

That was a 2023 multiplat showcase with a couple PS/PC games sprinkled in. Probably best to get that one outta the way before the real showcases

Didn't know it was happening. Saw the thread. Clicked on the stream. Landed at the very end of the MGS3 bit like wait wut? Scrubbed back and watched that. Closed out.

No idea what else was shown lol. But MGS3 alone was some cool news for me.

Trailer was whatever, but the screens and info Fedor posted made my day at least.

I should go back and see what else was announced.

Bruh, i have been hyping this thing since the 360 days. My issue is that they just announced the game not long ago, and this is an open world title. Its far af from being released. High chance of being a 2025 game... so what is there to be hyped about?

Waste of an hour. Largely meh.

The highlights on the announcements for me are:

• Phantom Blade Zero (I like parry system games so yeah, PC it is)
• Spider-Man 2 (This was a given, so not much to say what I've already know what I'm getting at)
• Sword of the Sea (Love Journey so this is right up my alley)
• Dragon's Dogma 2 (Took them long enough to finally announcement on the sequel)
• MGS Master Collection (I'm in a mixed with this one. It doesn't have MGS4 as I actually like that game then 3 to be honest. Saying this is a master collection is kinda of misleading but whatever. I'll need to see more before I put my hype into it)
• Foamstars (Obviously a Splatoon rip-off but in a good guilty pleasure way. I like Splatoon so yeah, I'll be trying this one out)

Overall, I'll say "It was a halfway between a turd and a peach show. Some things to be happy about" and it was pretty good for what was shown here. Two things that were a letdown here:

1. No Bloodborne news! Nothing at all which is a damn shame as Sony just doesn't care about that game anymore.
2. No Stellar Blade gameplay or any update was something I was hoping to see more of it.

I'll give this show a 7/10.

Saw many a news headline confirming MGS3 is not a PS exclusive. That's cool, but not surprised that Konami likes money.

I played all the MGS games not too long ago tho. They hold up very well on their own. Interested to see what's good about a remake 🤔

I was definitely expecting TLOU multiplayer.

What? DD2 has been announced like a year ago. Its just the first time we're seeing gameplay.

I haven't been keeping up with DD2 than as it's been taking so long. I will say the gameplay looks good.

Stand outs were

FF16, Grand Blue Fantasy Relink, Sword of the Sea, Phantom Blade Zero and Dragons Dogma 2.

You don't need to look up anything else as most of the other titles shown were non gameplay CGI

Sony first party really showed up with their CGI trailers.😏

As well as no updated Baldur's Gate 3 reminder/trailer as it essentially comes out as a PS5 console exclusive at launch is a huge blunder.

Thought it was a pretty good show. Plenty of good games shown.

It was a good multiplat showcase.

The lack of Baldur's Gate 3 is a bit odd, admittedly.

Considering I didn't know this was going to be a thing until yesterday, and I have zero expectations for Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft conferences in general, I thought it was okay. I don't know what PS diehards were realistically hoping to see, other than a Naughty Dog trailer, but I couldn't care less about their games.

Personally its a garbage show. Most of these 3rd party shows can be moved to xbox shows its what they known for. Most tuned in for PS Studios updates yet all we got other than Spidey was some multiplayer stuff. Where all those 20+ studios hiding.

So, where were all the bangers? Isn't Sony supposed to be the bestest ever? You were hyping the show. How could things go so wrong? I thought you were a 'Sony Professional'. LOL

Also, dat Spidey 2 frame rate... 10.2 TFLOPS...

Not the time to make fun of me. I am in an incredibly depressed state. For like 2-3sec, i was even thinking of selling my ps5, this is how hard this show hit me. You really don't want to be in my shoes right at this moment.

Should have been called: third party showcase featuring spiderman, but well, there were three games that i didn't know prior that caught my attention and those are:

Admittedly been consumed by TotK lately lol. Tunnel vision.

Also, just pay like zero attention to these things regardless. Background noise. Sony, MS, Nintendo, doesn't matter. Anything worthwhile, I'll find out after the fact.

It was crap, anything good was already leaked weeks ago.

The Pluck Squire still looks good and Phantom Blade Zero has potential too.

An hour for just spiderman 2 and helldivers

Show was good, some good games were announced. Problem is CGI trailers suck if you don’t have any gameplay to show don’t waste time on trailers focus on the game and say Konami is working on MGS game. I think people should lower their expectations when it comes to these shows.

I'm glad Mgs2 and 3 are coming to PC. Hopefully work well on the Deck.

I assume mgs4 will follow.

I think Spider-Man 2 did well enough but man, I was expecting something from Stellar Blade at the very least given the fact that's a 1st party game would have made the show stand out. At least there's Summer Game Fest so hopefully we'll see more 1st party games.

Seeing some streamers rate the show an 8/10 because they're scared of offending us, Sony Professional, is kinda pathetic tbh. Like imagine watching the show, and the only new titles shown that interest you is Marathon and DD2, and instead of saying so, you pretend like the show was tight, just cuz you're afraid of a backlash in your chat. So many pussies nowadays.

the real question is are shows rated on the overall games list or just what's coming "exclusive" to the platform?..

judging how cows act on this forum, i'll assume the latter.. from that standpoint, i could see the disappointment.. Sony first party is pulling a no-show other than Spiderman 2 and even that has no release date..

as an overall showing of games, i saw quite a bit i was interested in..

Underwhelming

I'd give it a 5 out of 10.

The good:

MGS3: Remake is real. Im pumped for Dragons Dogma 2. Phantom Blade and Gran Blu Fantasy Relink look great and Spider-Man 2 looks to be everything I hoped it would be. Helldivers 2 also looked pretty fun.

The bad :

Their new first party live service games all look like uninspired trash which is unfortunately, exactly what I expected. They had nothing from Sucker Punch, Bend, Naughty Dog or Blue Point?

Overall the PS5 has alot of great games coming to it but they're currently only two first party games I care about that have been announced and that may be a record low for me.

Helldivers 2, pretty cool. Dissapointing they're turning it into a third person shooter though. First one was top down.

The sad part is, while the Sony showcase was pretty bad I expect the Microsoft showcase on June 11th to be even worse. It's just a bad time for the state of games.

@nod_calypse: good solid show because i got what i wanted in spiderman. I only cared about spiderman 2, and it met my expectations and even exceeded it. As for the weebo game that cows were hyping, I thought it was cringe and dumb. Who knows though, it might turn out decent. Aside from spiderman 2, not much time look forward to on ps5. Bungie making marathon is huge, and I thought it would be exclusive to ps5...but then it's actually multiplat lol. No announcement on uncharted 5, nothing on tlou3, no wolverine. I think that starship troopers game Mr bojangles was hyping looks interesting.

So yeah, it was pretty much a shitshow for the cows but good in my eyes.
