Nope... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVsT4D2_VTI
I don't think you know just how inferior Crysis 2 is..
It's not all about the shiny looks.
No.
If they attempted render what Crysis 1 does at appealing settings, Germany in it's entirety would explode.
they did'nt squeeze Crysis into consoles, they took out features that would make it impossible to run.
Edit: Oh yeah, there is also the memory issue. Crysis levels tend to be twice as large as what's available on consoles before it's used for anything like running the OS and game engine.
no, the levels are to large, the textures are to good, and if you set of lots of explosions the physics would probably cause slow-down.
They could make a version that looks very similar in graphics if they just reduce textures, physics, and scale though. :D

Absolutely, that's why they are'nt in Crysis 2.
Only If they make it look like Far cry 2 :Plbjkurono23
Graphics are not the problem, it's the consoles lack of RAM.. They could make it look like Far Cry 1, but the consoles wouldn't be able to process all the physics, AI, scale, ect.
^This. If your console tried to run Crysis it would probably explode. I mean, there still isn't a single GPU on the market that can max out Crysis by itself. Think about that.Nope... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVsT4D2_VTI

Consoles are built for streaming, they cannot handle loading levels the size as the ones in use in Crysis 1.

I was thinking along the lines of switching all the character models. :P[QUOTE="lbjkurono23"][QUOTE="DreamCryotank"]I was thinking along the lines of switching all the character models. :P Make the character models look like Snake from MGS 1 on ps1 :P ?Graphics are not the problem, it's the consoles lack of RAM.. No, just repaint the guy to look like the nano suit :P, paint the sand green, throw a little water and call it a day xD
On the consoles:
CPU - Not enough to handle all the AI actors.
GPU/CPU - not enough to handle all the physics/destruction
GPU - Not enough to handle the amount of mesh detail + lighting effects + large view distances
RAM - Not enough to load the high rez textures, nto enough to hold a 1080p frame, not enough to handle the large scale areas.
So no.

That's why next gen consles need to have 1000 RAM not 512 :P. I think your estimation is horrible on the amount of ram the next gen is gonna need.. the first xbox was a miserable 64mb of ram 8x less than current, and ps2 had an absolutely pathetic 36mb 14.2xless. I'm thinking next gen will be 3-6gb of ram.[QUOTE="TheGuardian03"][QUOTE="DreamCryotank"]That's why next gen consles need to have 1000 RAM not 512 :P. Which is plenty when u take in account the fact they dont have to run an OS tha eats up 700mb of ram.[QUOTE="TheGuardian03"][QUOTE="DreamCryotank"]

The memory available today is cheap, but chances are the next consoles won't be using today's memory.
No, they would have to make the levels smaller, or make them into individually loaded-cell blocks, which would defeat the purpose. tagyhagthis pretty much explains it
It can be ported no prob...the issue is the graphics wont look "maxed out" like if you maxed out the PC version...you would probably get medium graphics in that open world environment....
the question is, would you want to play Crysis 1 on medium??

Probably the most sensible answer you'll find in this whole thread amidst "DUH, its so OLD and KZ beats it" coupled with "NO. Crysis 2 was so consolized porting the first would require making a whole new, worse game with NES graphics in comparison. PC 4 LYFE!"
I do remember a report from GamePro in 2007 before release about how they say a glimpse of Crysis on a TV and with a PS3 controller using a PS3, but it was all they got since they were ushered off. I guess this does make it possible, but at this point Crytek could be working on future projects so I doubt it will happen.
Sure but it wouldn't look as good as Crysis 2 does without a TON of work... it's not a good idea and will never happen.
