This is why I consider SW a cess pool of idiots...
You know it's bad when people are willing to fight over tenths of a point.
I'd rather fight over the threat of bias this new system presents. We have no way of knowing HOW they came up with the score anymore. This is why I consider SW a cess pool of idiots...

Then call me an idiot. It was more fun that way and I can care less what anyone else says. With this new review system the chances of the same scores for several opposing games are far higher, and that's just boring.

that tenth of a point is what keeps system wars alive, and also decides which game a gamer would buy, becasue obviously if a game is .1 better than another anticipated game then people are gonna buy the game that is .1 higher because it's obviously better.
the only reason i stay here is because of the forums....if IGN had these forums i would be outta here in a heartbeat. Also do u actualy like the new review system? i mean come on they are screwing themselves over. Watch by the end of the summer everyone wil be using IGN reviews.Banned2x
Yeah GS has neatest forums I have ever seen, and the people are interesting here.

Dumbest logic, found right here!
You saying Tony hawk is better than every single game ever made excluding OOT?

Perfectly fine reason to fight when it comes to the new review system. I just have an issue with people complaining that they can't make threads about a tenth difference between two awaited games anymore.

well tony hawk is an exception beacuse GS was high when reviewing that. But if GTA 4 gets a 9.4 on the 360 and a 9.3 on the PS3 which version of the game would u buy if u had both consoles? The 360 version right?
Not fair. There have been many previous discussions about similar things, including using Gamerankings scores. Now that gamespot changed, everyone wants to move away. Before it was "only GS matters". It should have been Gamerankings imo.BrownWalrus
Gamerankings uses too many crappy and biased sites.

Score would have nothign to do with it. I'd get the 360 version because it's cheaper than a 599$ console :|
If i already had a ps3 though, i'd get the ps3 version. BTW, either case, i'd factor in price more than anything else and the other games coming out for the console.
we have to go by ign reviews for ownage purposes?? because clearly the GS review system is lackluster and tacky i dont think we can take them serously if we want to claim ownage. For instance if Gs gave halo 3 a 9.5 and MGS4 a 9.5 we have nothing to argue about in system wars. On the other hand on IGN Halo 3 gets a 9.7 and MGS4 gets a 9.6 obviously the lemmings will claim ownage on the cows because their game did better. So wat do u guys think?Banned2x
Personally, I like this review system better. It lets them score the games based on how good they were. The five characteristics didn't really make sense. Let's take graphics for example.A game doesn't have to have flashy graphics to p0wn. Look at all of the XBLA and PSN games. There are some good ones on there that have sub-par graphics. This way, they can rate the games based on how much fun it was, instead of averaging five different scores. They can now give them awards or give them shame for things they do well or do badly using the badge system thing. This new rating system is an improvement in my mind. I don't understand why other people don't like it. Anyway, it's much easier to figure out exactly how much you liked a game at 0.5 intervals rather than 0.1 intervals.
In conclusion, I wish Gamespot would let the users use this new rating system instead of the old oneand award games the metals and such. They could even have a counter counting how many users though the game had "Outstanding Graphics" or "Revolutionary Gameplay" and the like.
Also, one point of difference does not make it better. Especially if it's not the same type of gameSonick54
of what if you looking for a racing game then on the 360 platform. With the new system there will prolly be around 30 racing games with a 9.0 and you wont be able to choose. But with the old system you got list all the scores numerically and if 9.1 was the highest score for a racing game would u get that instead?

The thing was, they were comparing graphics based on the standards of each system. It was an entirely valid reasoning. However, now we have NO guildine at all to know how they determine the score. if anything, the vague system will only lead to bias.[QUOTE="Banned2x"]we have to go by ign reviews for ownage purposes?? because clearly the GS review system is lackluster and tacky i dont think we can take them serously if we want to claim ownage. have u seen the medals? im not gonna waste my time looking for a game which got the highest number of medals in its genre. Those things are tacky and useless.

Why not read the review? Don't tell you just look at the score and decide from there. Why do you think reviews are written as well? :|
