Sitting down with 4 player Goldeneye

You guys can't possibly understand the greatness of 4 player goldeneye. I hate you muther****** who were too young to play it becuz you will never get the feeling of goldeneye.

I still prefer the original PC Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 to Goldeneye. I never really got too much into Goldeneye. Then again, I've been a PC gamer since 1990, so Goldeneye wasn't the start of the FPS genre for me. ;)

Its in your opinion. Personally i like conduit and halo better, but goldeneye is still fun :P

CoD4 is a lot of fun.

Even back then i felt it was rather average, Quake 2 came out the same year, was alot more fun on a 8 player LAN!

You can play Quake 2 today, still plays well, Goldeneye doesn't (unless its Goldeneye Source) :)

BTW Turok2>Goldeneye IMO. Not that I can stomach either one now. The only game I still get out my N64 to play sometimes is Starfox 64.SparkyProtocol

The "feeling of goldeneye" you speak of is nostalgia, the "kids" you speak of have this same nostalgia for Halo and Half-Life 2, move on.

I'm only 17 and even with all the HD ultra-realistic shooters we have now, nothing beats 4 player Goldeneye. Absolutely nothing.

It was dope back in the day, but it hasn't aged well...at all.

I'm not a fan of shooters in general, but if I had to pick one, it definitely wouldn't be one from the 90's :P

forget goldeneye, nightfire was WAYYYY more fun guys!

Goldeneye is good but not that good. The original MoH and CoD for PC top it imo.

Dude Goldeneye came out in '97 I'm pretty certain everyone on this forum was alive then and have played it.

No one cares if you're old and every game released this decade is crap etc. just stop making threads.

goldeneye was great for it's time but it a generation thing like how people will never get why MGS1 or FFVII was so good

Ugh I tried that last week at my friends, and it wasn't as good as I remembered. Halo 4 player local>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Goldeneye 4 player local but Perfect Dark 64 has them both beat :).

yeah goldeneyes multiplayer WAS amazing.

Just curious did you ever try out Banjo Tooies multiplayer? It had 2 FPS modes in it and featured a map almost identical to goldeneyes. Plus it had a lot more character variety (it was less bloody th0ough obviously)

I just tried some Goldeneye yesterday and forgot how ridiculously ****ing hard shooters from those days were.

I was visiting my friend, and she had an N64. We busted it out, and played a round.

It was pretty crappy. :(

I mainly still like it due to nostalgia.

yeah FPS's tend not to age well since most of there gameplay relies on visuals to keep the action going.

Goldeneye still rocks to this day. It really never gets old, like a bunch of other games out there.
