Skate Has to be the best experience and feeling of any skateboarding game. it probly isnt good for the PS3 but it is amazing for the xbox 360. Give me your thoughts. and try to example another skateboarding game to this one.

The words that start flame wars.

Ontopic:

I like the overall gameplay. It just the camera that ruins it. It's doesn't give me the best angles and doesn't adjust to the front of the player fast enough when turning.

Even though EA's priorities are with the Xbox 360 version, I think the PS3 version will be just as good. But anyway. I've been skateboarding for a long, long time. And with Grind Session being a hidden gem, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise pretty much took over skateboard games in general. I heard about Skate simply from Rob and Big. The game has evolved dramatically since then. Regardless of what Electronic Arts has done in the past they really have a concept that can work.

The demo in my opinion was awesome. There's actual skill progression which makes it possible for players to actually play a true game of S.K.A.T.E. like my friends and I do in the parking lot. Players even have a sense of individual style and even difference in consistency. You might befamiliar with a certain amount of tricks, while another player has a different type of ammunition in his bag. But check this out....it's not because you have your controls matted out with specific tricks. Each player has the potential to pull off any and every trick the game has to offer because of the Flick-it system. It's either put up or shut up. And if the concept is pulled off right, online is going to be hell of fun!

Isn't that the entire reason that makes this a skating sim?

Actually. The anologs on the PS3's controller should be much better to use than the 360's. The 360's just feels way to weird.

You are wrong about the 360's analog sticks.

I can say the same thing you said buddy. the 360 controls aren't best for every type of game you know.

I guess you're one of those people who say "buh buh... the PS3 controller is to big fr my enormous hands ". Thats fine. I don't have the biggest hands in the world.

I liked it... but I didn't LOVE it... you know what I mean. If I had the patience to really nail the controls, then it would be awesome... but does ANYONE have that kind a patience with the game lineup we have on the horizon. I own 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, and DS... so I can't afford to buy games I only LIKE. As a matter of fact, I can't afford all the games I LOVE.

are you insane? at least the 360 controller has substance and weight to it, the sixaxis feels like the cheapest controller i've ever used in my entire life. not to mention the awkward placement of the analog... but the sticks themselves feel far superior on the 360.. pretty sure this is the majority opinion.

It wasn't bad considering I haven't really been "into" a skating game since THPS 3. The controls worked well but kinda messed with my head, I kept trying to use a button to do jumps instead of the analog. It takes some getting used to, and the way the camera was I had a really hard time judging distances to do grinds. I love that it doesn't have that Bam Margera-style faux attitude that the recent Tony Hawk games had.

Skate is so surprisingly fun. I'm always looking for different ways to grind or trick off of things in the demo. I can't wait to get this game.
