the way collectors editions sell around here...i should be able to pick up one of those for around 80-60 bucks sometime next year, ill be getting the game day one though definately

That one wasn't outrageously priced though, it was just a normal MSRP game, and I guess it must have actually been limited in print even though it was a good value. That one is a "value" only because it actually APPRECIATED in tme.I got mine for $19.99. But the $80 or so it goes for now, is still barely half of what the Skyrim CE goes for.
This thing is $150, and is probably destined to be $20 eventually. There's literally no chance in hell this behemoth is going to appreciate in value over time, or be a real "collectors item" in any way, shape, or form.

The only 2 good things to come out of that were the compilation itself and the music CD. The rest of the package, as well as the waste of an entire disc (as opposed to just packing in a DLC voucher), was....uh....

Some people will want it.
Companies want to sell their games at higher prices, but the market won't quite yet allow $70 games. This is probably the cheapest way for these companies to raise the price of their games at launch

I use it alot to. However I waited on a price drop. I paid 60.
I'll be getting the normal game.. then buying the strat guide and sound track for MUCH less than 150... maybe if it the CE included the strat guide and soundtrack would I consider.
